I don’t usually leave reviews but I felt I had to for this place. After eating at many of the top recommended restaurants on the island during my 2 week stay I can confirm this is the best place to eat to suit all preferences. Tasty fresh food, well prepared, very fair prices and good portions.
I had a recommendation from a local neighbour during my stay and even a local person sitting a few tables away shouted to us that “this was the best place to eat on the island”. The owner Augusto came to speak to us, he was very polite and welcoming, it’s clear he takes pride in his restaurant.
We ordered grilled chicken and fish which was so good we came back the next day for dinner. This time we ordered buzio because we didn’t enjoy it from another restaurant so we had to give it a second try. I can confirm it was absolutely delicious and my only regret is that I didn’t find the place earlier...
Read moreOk, let's not get carried away. It is a good restaurant, far back from the beach/ocean. The service is very friendly, but getting your food takes time and is slow - but if you're in a rush to eat, you should be in Cabo Verde anyway. If you don't speak Portuguese, there are probably better restaurants for you to be able to communicate (my family speaks the language).
The tuna tartar is very good, although when we went they were out of it, so we ordered other dishes. The chicken is very good, and the mixed grilled fish is also very good.
If you are in the area, I would recommend this restaurant - but I wouldn't go out of your way...

Even my daughter which is a picky eater, liked it very much. On the other side, we have ordered a shrimp plat, which came as well very interesting and a really nice sauce (only the portion we found little - we would expect more shrimps, comparing to the other dish).
