My wife and I decided to take the family, including my in-laws to Santa Cruz for a tour on Mont Gras winery. We started to look for hotels in the area and we were totally bummed when we saw how pricey the hotels in the area where. We bumped into Hostal Santa Cruz on our internet search and saw how cheap they were in comparison the other hotels in the area and so we settled with the only option we had to try and keep the trip within budget. ||||Boy were we wrong! This Hostal has been the best bed and breakfast place I stayed in Chile! The place was super clean and when I say clean I mean that even the window sills are dust and bug free! All you see in their website is true, even their bathrooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was so friendly that I thought I was visiting family. Their breakfast, which is included in the price was enough for you to get stuffed for the rest of the day. It was a complete breakfast from cereal and fruits to scrambled eggs and pastries. The best part was their family friendly environment. Usually hostels either they do not allow kids in their premises or they look at you with disdain because your kids are to rowdy in the hall. That was not the case with this hostel and I was very delighted for that. Our room was just sufficiently big to accommodate 2 adults and 2 kids sleeping on a king size and a full size bed altogether. I fully recommend this hidden gem and hopefully it will stay the same for when we get back some day! Thanks a lot Hostel Cruz del Valle for a wonderful...
Read moreI needed a place to crash for a couple of nights while investigating an opportunity in the area. A friend told me about Hostal Cruz del Valle Santa Cruz and got my reservation.||No complaints at all. My Spanish isn't so good and the hostess that greeted me spoke even less English, so we started off with a little communication challenge. But she was sweet, kind and patient as we worked our way through things.||The room was so comfortable that it could be considered a hotel. There's no kitchenette, but they would probably let you use the kitchen if you needed to.||The room had a comfortable bed with immaculate sheets and a comfortable feel. A small desk and a wardrobe were there as well. And I had a private bathroom.||Some of the signage is in English, offering a little more convenience.||Security was great. There is gated parking, but only room for about three or four cars inside. They lock it up at night or when they leave. ||All the staff was super friendly. One of them spoke some English. Otherwise, we worked through it with the help of Google Translate.||The location is a little odd at first, since it's down a narrow (almost alley) road. But if you've been there once, then it's unimportant. It's close to the city square and in a comfortable enough neighborhood. Remember, it's a hostal, not the Ritz. For me it was just a place to crash. But, for a hostal, I found it to be at the top...
Read moreLocated in a residential neighborhood this hostel (or hotel) is a perfect spot to set up shop to visit the amazing surrounding wineries. Elizabeth is a very gracious host who cooks you spectacular breakfasts in the morning complete with scrambled||eggs, fruit, yogurt, juice, pastries, cheese and meat. The hotel is spotlessly clean. I was there during the winter so the place was empty but the service was still excellent and Elizabeth went out of her way to help us arrange wine tours and find spots to eat at night. Beware that many local restaurants are closed on Sunday's. The breakfast served at hostel Cruz kept me full well into the afternoon. The wifi was fast and reliable and the value was apparent here as its one of the lower priced accommodations in the expensive Santa Cruz area. The rooms, while not huge, are perfectly adequate, with flat screen tv and plenty of hot water. I would recommend this place 100% and would return in...
