Promised french food. Baguette lacked crunchy crust, dough heavy. Ordered cafe au lait and the waitress didn't know what it was. Brought me a menu and asked me to point to what I wanted. It had a good selection of Italian coffee. I ordered the breakfast with scrambled eggs, well done. Came partly raw, asked that it not be raw. Returned overcooked, rigid eggs with slightly burnt underside. I gave up complaining. The French do very good eggs, so this was disappointing. Strawberry juice was lovely. Sugar free jam was a good bonus. Tiny prepacked butter portion did half of the half baguette... Asked for one more and then on the bill came with $400 surcharge. Breakfast price being around $6000, this strikes me as mean. No coffee refill, small cup....

I had a delightful experience at La Chocolatine Chile. The baguette was fresh and had that perfect crunch that I always look for. Es como el café del barrio con minimarket pero de un barrio acomodado. No te atienden en la mesa, para mi eso es un menos, porque siempre uno termina tomando y comiendo algo que no querías por la rapidez en tener que elegir. Pedí un croissant jamón queso y un café late, el croissant a mi parecer un poco seco, pero para el momento estaba ok, el café bien y compré una baguette para llevar, que pregunté si tenían de masa madre, y me dijeron que sí, y dudo si lo era. Nada especial esta cafetería pero por lo que entiendo es de mucha tradición por su panadería artesanal francesa, y que en caja me lo hicieron notar cuando le pedí un croissant con mi mejor idioma francés y la cajera (no sé si es administradora o dueña) me mira y me dice quieres un CROISSANT? (Dejando en evidencia mi ignorancia al pronunciar) En fin, para los que viven cerca, debe ser un lugar para ir con frecuencia, pero si no eres del sector, te recomiendo que no vayas, hay...
