Sushiro (Lam Tin) — Restaurant in Hong Kong

I visited the sushi restaurant this weekend, arriving around 1015. Fortunately, I was seated promptly within 5 minutes, despite it being a busy weekend time.

The sushi itself tasted fresh and nice overall, which is the most important thing when evaluating a sushi restaurant.

However, one thing I disliked about the experience was the poor handling of an out of stock item in my order. When several of the items I ordered were unavailable, the restaurant cancelled those items from my order without informing me or acknowledging the change.

As a customer, I expect to be communicated with regarding the status of my order, including if any modifications or substitutions need to be made. Simply cancelling an item without notice is not acceptable and reflects poorly on the service.

While the food itself met expectations, the lack of communication around changes to my order was disappointing and the one downside of my experience. With improved transparency and customer service around conveying modifications to a diner's order, this could have been a strong overall experience.

It opened in early 2021 and it was one of the craziest Sushi restaurants I have ever visited. More than 3 hours waiting in line is just insane. We got a serve ticket at about 1 pm and eventually we had our dinner there. It has an updated food automation system such that you order through their serving pad and your food will be delivered by their conveyor belt. Of course you can also pick up any Sushi dish that is sitting on the carousel. There is a vast variety of food choices from sashimi to deep fried items. You can definitely find your comfort food here. I found the tuna exceptionally good. The portion is a little bit bigger than other sushi chain stores at a similar price.

The down side is there is always a long queue for at least 2 hours. Remember to queue up via their app...
