I’ve really enjoyed this place in the past. Friends had a good meal here a few weeks ago so prompted us to return for a birthday celebration meal. On entering, we were the only table. Four of us and only given one drinks and one food menu. Servers noticed we were passing menu between us and did not offer other menus. Asked server for specials / recommendations, they didn’t seem to know the menu. Charcoal roast suckling pig was delicious but chopped to a very chunky size so had to resort to using hands to eat. I did request knife and fork for a member of our party to cut to smaller pieces but server seemed perplexed with this request. Other food arrived with no serving utensils. King prawn curry was good but had to request extra side plate to place the shells. Chicken curry was bland with thin strips of chicken. Fish did not taste authentic Thai but rather like Cantonese sweet and sour fish. King prawn pizza was good but probably needed a sauce to go with it. I expected the meal to be pricey but on this occasion, sad to say it was not worth it. None existent service, not welcoming (noted the manager was not there today but was present on occasion when friends visited). Service charge is automatically added, we didn’t want to make a fuss. We took a cake with us for the birthday celebration but took it...
Read moreToday visit after many years. Pros: two of three dishes were very good. We enjoyed massaman bief brisket curry (spicy just right, nice a bit roasted potatoes inside, ordered extra rice on side) and squid with spicy egg yolk (very good, not breaded and relatively light). Cons: utmost lack of staff, the head waiter was fine, second one was clueless. Wearing black sweat pants… Difficult to draw their attention, constantly had to ask about water refill. Also, cooks had no mask in the kitchen – what a fail! Thai papaya salad was sooo spicy it was inedible. Served on a rotten lettuce. When pointed out to the waiter (the second slower one), he replied OK. Photo on picture too. Well, it is not ok. Also when we left the salad almost untouched, there was probably something wrong. No one bothered to ask, when paying no one bothered to say thanks, come again or some basics (and no, it was not a language issue as the head waiter had pretty fine English). So for Tai Mei Tuk it was fine but I have no desire to come again. Such a shame and wasted potential. In line with previous reviews - you can park there and it is close to...
Read moreApr 2025: we had dinner after cycling. There were a lot of Thai food restaurants. We chose this one because of the Bicycle shop owner recommended. Sunday but no waiting time. Place is clean. Toilet is clean. We ordered Pineapple fried rice, crepes, vegetables, pork knuckle and Tom Yum soup.
The vegetables were salty. Pineapple fried rice was not like fried rice, just mixed pineapple with some frozen seafood in it. Crepes came with a black basket, however I can tasted some sour taste on the crepes. Just like they swept some lemon juice on the crepes. I am wondering if they reused the black basket. The pork knuckle was too tough and not juicy.
During the dinner, the waiter came to put another dish on our table. However, he spilled my drink and I saw he put his finger in my drink. I expected he would come to change a new one for me. However, he did not until we asked to.
After checked the bill ($1001), I saw another family ordered same vegetables as us. However, the...
