I recently visited a seafood restaurant with two friends, and we had a mixed experience. While we didn't have to wait for a table, the overall ambiance of the restaurant was underwhelming. The decor was outdated, and the lighting was dim, which made it difficult to appreciate the presentation of the dishes.
We ordered a variety of dishes, including white boiled shrimp, boiled sea snails, stir-fried clams with black bean sauce, and steamed abalone with vermicelli. While the seafood was fresh and cooked properly, the flavors were not as impressive as we had hoped. The white boiled shrimp lacked the sweet and succulent taste that is usually expected, and the boiled sea snails were slightly overcooked, which made them chewy.
The stir-fried clams with black bean sauce had a decent flavor, but the sauce was a bit too salty for our tastes. The standout dish of the meal was the steamed abalone with vermicelli, which was cooked to perfection and had a subtle but delicious flavor.
The service at the restaurant was friendly and attentive, but the waitstaff seemed to be in a rush and did not take the time to explain the dishes thoroughly or provide recommendations.
Overall, while the seafood at this restaurant was fresh and properly cooked, the flavors were not as impressive as we had hoped. Additionally, the ambiance of the restaurant was underwhelming, and the service could have been more attentive. For the price we paid ($1300 HKD), we expected a more memorable...

Our server deserves special mention for being exceptionally helpful and friendly. Their attentive service greatly enhanced our visit, and we appreciate the warm hospitality extended to us throughout our time at Lamma Rainbow Seafood Restaurant. They helped to monitor the next ferry out of island for us. Thank you so much.
On the flip side, I must express some reservations about the dining experience concerning the food and pricing. The seafood, undoubtedly fresh, failed to justify the relatively high prices. We ordered a lobster for 280 HKD, salt and pepper squid for 150 HKD, sautéed vegetables for 150 HKD (no picture available), 2 clams for 110 HKD, and 2 fresh coconuts, resulting in a total payment of 915 HKD (155 SGD).
While the freshness of the seafood is commendable, the overall quality and taste of the dishes were, unfortunately, only average. The expense incurred for the meal, however, seemed disproportionately high in comparison to the perceived value. I believe that the cost did not align with the overall dining experience, and as a result, I feel that the meal was not worth the...
