I had one of my delightful meals here in Hong Kong. Lamma Mandarin can be considered an institution at Lamma Island given its over four decades of history. The family restaurant is currently helmed by the son, the chef-restauranter, of the founder (grandma). The ingredients were all fresh and well priced. We had ordered a steamed black garoupa, steamed jumbo prawns doused in wine on a bed of vermicelli, fried noodles, fried rice, and a plate of Hong Kong choy sum no less. Prices were nett. There was no tea charge and service charge, unlike some of its competitors. But what topped the experience was not just the food, but the matriarch's well mannered granddaughter, who blew us away with her patience and kindness. Her service was simply impeccable. I believe that the young lady was back for a short while to help out at the family restaurant. It was clear that she took pride in her "work", as well as the legacy of the family business at Lamma Island. Highly recommended for anyone craving quality seafood dishes at Lamma Island without breaking your bank. (I was here on a Tuesday evening and Sok Kwu Wan was sooooooo quiet. Will be great to lend these businesses some support!)

We finished our hike and made it to Sok Kwu Wan. We asked for a seat by the water and they accommodated us. We had wanted to try some seafood so we picked some of their specialties. We ordered a Typhoon Crab, King Mantis Prawn and scallops. Each was cooked very well. The crab meat was tender and the prawn was too. The scallops were super yummy with the garlic and vermicelli. Overall the staff were attentive and super friendly. If you are on this part of the island definitely check it out.

Seafood is very fresh, taste is good, we enjoyed the shrimp, abalone, and clams a lot. Sweet & sour pork is authentic! Fried rice and veggie are reasonable, pretty fresh and healthy. Waterfront dinning along with super friendly owner and servers, we really had a great experience. We ordered set meal A + clams. I saw that most of the restaurants on that street are charging the same price, so I plan to go back and try a few more places.

Genuinely a bit of a miss.

Might have been good in the past but not anymore. Had the 5 dish set menu with Lobster.

Took forever to come, nothing was fresh (probably defrosting - hence why it took so long to come).Wouldn’t change the lobster sauce to something else (same price) even when we offered more money. Calamari was soggy and lukewarm. Vegetables limp.

The guy taking orders is friendly and enjoys a laugh, but if you want good seafood -...
