River View Cafe — Restaurant in Islands District

We had our lunch at River View Café, and unfortunately, it was one of the most disappointing parts of our Disneyland visit. Despite the promising location and ambiance, the food quality did not match the price at all.

🌿 Ambiance & Setting

The café itself is nicely located near the Rivers of Adventure, with a pleasant view and a peaceful vibe, great if you’re looking to take a break from the park crowds. The interior is well-themed, and it seemed like a nice place to relax and enjoy a meal.

🥘 Our Food Experience

We ordered two combos: • Black Lentil & Biryani Combo (vegetarian) • Butter Chicken Combo

Sadly, both meals were major letdowns: • The “biryani” was just plain dry rice—there was nothing aromatic or flavorful about it. It lacked the spices and richness you’d expect from even a basic biryani. • The black lentil gravy (dal makhani) had an extremely sour taste, likely due to excess vinegar or poorly balanced seasoning. It was hard to eat more than a few bites. • The butter chicken was also overwhelmingly sour and oddly sweet at the same time, completely missing the creamy, mildly spiced flavor this dish is known for.

We were really hungry and wanted to enjoy our lunch, but the taste made it very difficult to finish the meal. We chose this café mainly because there were no other vegetarian-friendly options nearby, but in hindsight, we wish we had stuck to snacks or carried our own food.

💸 Pricing

The prices were very high, even by theme park standards, which would be understandable if the food was at least decent. But paying such a premium for poorly made, inauthentic dishes felt frustrating.

While River View Café has a nice view and clean seating area, the food quality and taste were extremely poor, especially for the high price point. If you’re vegetarian or particular about Indian food, it’s best to skip this restaurant or bring your own meals.

河景餐廳阿Jack怪誕大餐 河景餐廳位於森林河船之旅對面。個人建議如計劃好同情侶或一家大細進餐，最好先在官網訂購。現場walk in 要視乎是否有無空位。現場付費是要付加一服務費，網上訂購則以成人票價$788，小童票價$478便可。我蠢咗，9月21日 walk in購買套票。後來職員同我講網上訂購免加一。呢個套餐係包阿Jack怪誕大餐一客、「惡人舞動迪士尼」優先入場1次及怪誕城之夜三大惡棍阿Jack，Sally及Boogie合照。

當日下午進場，一入到去便有一把壓低嗓子的女子在我右邊講話：Alan，我地等咗你好耐，你個位係呢邊！向右一望，一個妝容貌似「星期三」的女孩招待我。心想今日是星期三，撞到一個妝容貌似「星期三」的女職員，唔係咁邪呀😈！及後才知全場餐廳職員都以Nightmare before Christmas造型出場，連同場地布置都係Tim Burton個怪誕城之夜裝飾。怪不得我對這位Mimi女職員，有「星期三」的詭異感覺。有點嚇人但又好親切。「星期三」Wednesday Addams 是Tim Burton將會上映的電視劇。「星期三」Wednesday 是愛登氏家庭的大女名字。故事以她為主題。 怪誕大餐包發光特飲、海鮮拼盤、蟹肉凍湯、主菜 ( 我選鱸魚 ) 及甜品拼盤。發光特飲充滿亞馬遜河熱帶風味。好多水果加埋的fruit punch。有橙味加菠蘿味。海鮮拼盤味道同澳洲海鮮差唔多。有龍蝦、藍青口、蝦、翡翠螺等等。好重海水味。上菜時職員會注入假血入器皿，器皿之內噴出蒸氣噴霧。令人有詭異感覺。西班牙蟹肉凍湯好似雞尾酒血色瑪莉。有蟹肉但好重雞尾酒味。主菜我選取鱸魚。清香入口，爽夾滑。上等食材。甜品拼盤非常精緻，造型是阿Jack、Sally及Boogie。阿Jack是雪糕。Sally是小蛋糕。Boogie是甜酸糖。用手機閃光燈可以造出詭異造型。看出廚師精湛功力。 用餐時有一驚喜表演，就是職員Alvin帶領全場餐廳職員用Acapella合唱團方式，邊唱邊晃動手中烊燭，載歌載舞。Tim Burton 講過，過去佢D作品，全部將人內心深處的狂想作無限放大。謝霆鋒講過，可口可樂加美食，可以將滋味無限擴大。今日，我品嚐到 Tim Burton 怪誕大餐，附加 Nightmare before Christmas 主題曲acapella live version。可以令食客走進Tim...
