My go-to place for pan-fried pork bun (生煎包). Their little wonton and big wonton are also excellent and taste like the way it was in my childhood and very hard to find outside Shanghai. Try the cold noodle too, it is the type of thing only appreciated by the people who grow up in the city Unfortunately the quality of the pan-fried bun has dropped a bit during my last visit, will try again to verify .

Had a lay over for 16 hours in Shanghai so I needed to find a spot that opened super early. Luckily this place is open 24/7!! They have the best pan fried buns I’ve ever had. They’re fluffy and perfectly fried on the bottom. They’re so juicy too. I’m drooling just thinking about it. The wonton soup was fresh and delicious as you can just tell they’re home made and made daily.

One of the best serving street food restaurants I would say. But it also means you can't get in if there is no vacancy inside. The way they make the fried dumplings is kinda traditional with a fluffy and crispy bottom. But it's kinda wierd when the vegetable is served cold. Simply not local style. One tips to give: don't sit under the air conditioner, it not only cools people, also cool down your food.

Food looks simple but it was packed full of flavour. The fried scallion noodles was rich in flavour and it was very fragrant. The dough of the pan fried dumplings was crispy and it blended well with the juicy meat inside it. Service was efficient and food was very affordable! Good and simple Shanghainese food.

Affordable eatery for authentic Shanghai street cuisine. They are famous for their pan fried soup dumpling aka Shengjian Bao, which is excellent. I ordered cold noodle, topped off with peanut butter sauce. On the side, I had a bowl of beef curry soup.
