This is a lovely hotel along one of the main streets in Shanghai city centre. Love the location as it is very accessible. I would suggest people taking the MRT from the Hong Qiao airport to drop at South Shaanxi Road station, as it is a straight path down to the hotel after that.
The rooms were very clean and clearing of trash/refilling of water bottles are done everyday. It was a breeze staying at the hotel. Nearby, there is a huge Muji store and Uniqlo is just right by the MRT station.
The hotel breakfast is sufficient, would suggest to do it for the next morning after arrival and maybe before leaving for the airport. There are some shops nearby that also serve traditional Shanghai breakfast, really depends on your palate. Discovered salty tau huay at ć°æĄæș which is a 15 minutes walk from the hotel. I cannot go back to sweet tau huay .
Read moreWe stayed for 8 nights in the Deluxe Business Suite. This suite had two separate rooms with their own bathrooms, one with a queen bed and one with two single beds, connected by a separate living area. Each area had separate air conditioning controls. The rooms were spacious and relatively clean but only the room with two single beds had a window. The beds were comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was good, although one of the shower floors had a dip in the middle so that you were constantly standing in a puddle of water even though the drainage was working fine. One of the rooms air conditioning had a bad smell but we were able to use the aircon from the living room and keep the door open for the aircon to flow inside. The service was good and there was complimentary water daily. We were offered breakfast at a discounted rate. There was a small selection of hot food and good quality pastries and bread, fruit, yoghurt, congee, tea, coffee and juices. The location was convenient and close to two metro lines. Overall we enjoyed our stay and...
Read moreI am a little confused why this hotel has great reviews. Garbage disposal unit at the entrance - smelly and there are cockroaches leading up to the hotel under the wooden decking. Our room was not in the main hotel but in a separate building which was dirty and forgotten about. Sound prodding is so bad that the hotel had a whole drawer of ear plugs ready for complaining visitors. There was a male member of staff whose wife/girlfriend/mistress was waiting for him to finish work and they were shouting at the top of their voices across the guest lounge area - when we asked them to be quiet they tutted at us!!! When we checked in they tried to put us in one room even though we booked two. The rooms are a good size but are damp and musty. The bed is way too soft and difficult to get in and out of for older guests. Positives, outside seating area, good inside seating area, great location. We would stay in this area again but would not stay at this...
