Nanjing Dumpling Spicy Hot Pot — Restaurant in Shanghai

A hole-in-the-wall gem of a little dumpling restaurant in the French Concession area of Shanghai. I can't even begin to describe how good the dumplings are here! Little juicy gems filled with delicious soup and a variety of meats and seafoods. These are hands down the best Shanghanese dumplings you will find in Shanghai....and by definition, in the world! My mouth is watering just writing this review! Don't expect a luxurious ambience. The opposite in fact. The atmosphere is created by the personal nature of the service, where the chef and owners sit with you chatting in English or Mandarin, whichever you prefer. And if you're chatty, you might even get a friendly bear hug from the owner! Food is cheap, and expect to devour multiple baskets of dumplings in the blink of an eye. Great for dinner, or post night-out in the trendy French Concession area. This restaurant is open 24hours a day! Do not miss if you ever find yourself...

I've been eating xiao long baos for the last 30 years. There's no "Spicy Hot Pot" here, just excellent, local, handmade soup dumplings - i.e. xiao long baos. These are comparable to the more famous shops in Shanghai, but without the queues and with a lot more local feels ...

A little restaurant with wonderful xiao long bao (soup dumplings). We tried all the different kinds and they were excellent. The restaurant is open until late (midnight) and the owner is very kind. The menu includes pictures and short descriptions in English so you can just point at...
