Going all the way to Ma Wan just to try the Turkish sand coffee and Turkish food, I thought it was so far but I can tell you, it was 100% worth it! 👍👍🤩🤩🤩
Roast chicken 🐔 The roast chicken was absolutely juicy and very flavorful! The sauce penetrates the meat till the bone 🍖 the sauce is very savory but also a bit tangy which was very refreshing. 🤤
Bean soup 🥣 The soup was very thick and creamy, the savory but velvety texture really nice to drink alone or pair with bread
Vegetarian chicken bowl 🥗 Apparently they made it themselves and it was slightly sour and salty, yet very tasty 🤤. It was very colourful and the lady said it was because she wanted to incorporate the 5 colours, appealing to our taste and sight. The different types of veggies on the bowl gave every bite a slight different texture and every bite taste 👍😍
Sand coffee ☕️ So the main attraction, sand coffee. When we were there, our coffee was served by a coffeeologist and he used a ceramic stove instead. I thought I would be disappointed not being able to see the sand but I was instead so impressed by his passion and the sparks on the ceramic stove that followed the path of the coffee like stars ✨ He mentioned that the taste was the same using sand and ceramic stove but it’s definitely a more traditional experience watching it on the sand so I think I’d like to see that next time I go👍
Overall,I was totally blown away by the amazing experience and I would definitely come back for both even though the travel time is long for me!! 👍 when I left I was told that they would have a new menu out soon and so that means another new experience ✨✨ They also have coffee tutorials which I might consider next time and more workshops which I think I will...
Read moreThe food menu is overpriced while the food quality is very low. The staff are not friendly and the dishes are not clean (the plates had a dry sause and pieces of food stick to it).
We ordered the chicken (HKD 158) and the beef steak (HKD 208). and the cheese bread (HKD 85).
The chicken was half burned and half not cooked till the end (it was red and mushy). The served steak was 50% just fat and almost no meat. The chesse break is surely from a supermarket cheese break frozen pack as it wasnt even hot enough (probably frozen and reheated).
When speaking with the person that was in the kitchen and seems to be the owner, the feedback was "oh, sorry sorry"... there was no sense of understanding of customer service and what was the issue. They just wanted me to pay and leave. they also charge you 10% service fee while it takes them over 30 min to prepare your food and also charge you 1-3% credit card fee if you pay with ali pay or credit card.
Total paid over HKD 500 for nothing more than a bad experience and low-grade food.
I will never come back to this place again. Waste of my...
Read moreCute cafe with a friendly poodle and cat roaming around. Ordered a beef burger and was very confused with what I received, check the photo below, no meat patty or anything. I thought they forgot to put the beef patty inside. Asked the staff, they said it's not a mistake, their burger is like that and they seemed like there's nothing wrong with it. (Maybe they can rename it to invisible burger, or air burger 😂) They said they can't do anything about it so I sent it back and just had an ice coffee which was fine, but expensive at $65.
My friend also ordered an ice coffee and found a piece of hard plastic (1cm) inside the coffee. I recommend to stay away from this place! Seriously wtf is...
