I came with my fiance and brother-in-law in search of Korean food in Bucaramanga. I am from the States so I've had my fair share of Korean food and the general taste/flavors of Korean cuisine, I must say... I was rather disappointed I ordered the Hangug Kimbap which was my first time trying and a solid 10/10 it was delicious and looked just like the K-dramas, for the set I ordered the Galbi Gui...I've had quite a few experiences with Korean marinated meat and this has got to be by far the worst. The meat seemed overcooked on the outside it was very chewy a bit pink inside, I had to chew it at least 20 times before I swallowed (I know that sounds like an exaggeration but eventually my jaw started to hurt) 5/10. The japchae was a solid 6/10, The Tansuyug was a 6/10.
We also tried the donuts at the end of our meal. Now I'm no stranger to red bean paste from eating Japanese desserts in the past- The bean paste was a bit dry my fiance thought it would be sweeter, and my brother-in-law just didn't prefer the taste.
Overall the food was okay it wasn't the best Korean food I've had, but perhaps I'm making an...
Read moreBeing a Korean American my review may be a bit harsher than most. If you're not familiar with Korean food than this place will be a great start. Although I suggest you keep in mind that having truly authentic top-notch Korean food in Bucaramanga is a challenge. Remember what your experience is like and then compare it to when you give it another try in cities like LA or Northern Virginia. And obviously if you go to Korea it's gonna be on a whole other level. I assume it is because of import challenges of certain ingredients and the fact that there isn't really a high standard for Korean food in the market. The food was ok. It was enough to satisfy my craving. What makes up for the ok food was the ambiance and service. The owner was also very gracious and friendly and checked in to make sure my visit was enjoyable. The space is also designed for groups to go, eat, and share endless bottles of Soju. True Korean style. So if you're looking for a fun experience more than a high quality culinary journey this is a great...
Read moreIf you already know Korean or Asian food in general, this NOT your place, unless you come and see it as a parody of the Korean culture, which is how we saw it and laughed so much. For locals it might be an experience, as there’s not much variety out there in the city. The food is very Colombian flavored and far from authentic. There are really stupid details like to access the menu you need to scan a QR code that takes you to an Instagram account, so if you are not an insecure adolescent using this vanity app you cannot actually read the menu, what a joke! The place is really hot and you need to ask multiple times to the waiters to turn the fan on. The food presentation is also really funny, again like a bad parody. The ramen seems to be made with the instant noodles sold at supermarkets, horrible and we...
