Restaurante La Carreta — Restaurant in Bucaramanga

The food was excellent, and eating under a tree felt like eating in the middle of a forest; it was beautiful, and the music was perfect as well. We went on a Sunday for lunch, I get they were busy, but I saw empty tables, so they were not completely booked. We saw our server once. I had to get up multiple times to order drinks at the bar, and even had to get up to get my check. We asked for candles to help with the flies, asked multiple times, and never got them. I think the restaurant is great but the management needs to work on how they staff...

Sin duda que hablar de La Carreta, es sinónimo de la larga tradición de una excelente parrilla en lugar muy acogedor. Sin embargo es muy triste el hoy de este emblema culinario local. Su parrilla es realmente mala, los tiempos de servicio muy largos y la calidad final de los platos es muy distante de la excelencia de otros tiempos. Nuestros tres platos, además de tarde, estuvieron lejísimos de una calidad aceptable. Una bondiola de cerdo excesivamente cocida y con poco sabor propio, opacado por las frutas del aderezo, muy regular. Una punta de anca cortada en tiras donde no pareciera ser un corte de primera calidad que primero llegó cruda (no sellada) y luego pasada de cocción al punto, como fue solicitada, pero que nuestro invitado no quiso volver a reclamar. Para terminar el mio, el tradicional Churrasco a La Carreta, que primero llegó excesivamente cocido, tanto que la carne estaba marrón, sin sabor y realmente dura. Este corte fue cambiado por un segundo que llegó sellado por fuera y aun congelado por dentro, obviamente pedí, de nuevo, ponerlo "al punto", pero luego llego cocido por partes de forma irregular. Además el contorno de pasta estaba muy lejos de ser agradable. Siendo un almuerzo de negocios comimos lo que pudimos y aprovechamos el tiempo para el asunto que nos reunía, pero realmente frustrante...

Service was good, meat was tough, asked for rare and got nearly overcooked...But then the musicians appeared loud, corny, rude fuddy duddy. Just like a cheap mexican restaurant in El Paso with useless mariachis, I asked for my table to be changed to a quiet area or them to be moved to another area of the large restaurant whilst I finished my meal.....all hell was let loose, did I dare challenge the fuddy duddys...
