Bar Restaurante Tierras Amazónicas — Restaurant in Leticia

Update: Returned for lunch a week later and had vegan vegetable pasta. I don't normally consume any cooking oils, so this was unusual with its sesame oil, but I really did liked it. GREAT with the Camu-Camu juice.

Previous: WOW! Was not expecting the unusual and lovely flavors of both plates. I was hungry, so had a vegan entrada dish of a quinoa croquet with small white beans and a delicious red sauce. That went down muy rapido. Loved the earthy flavors and the red quinoa tasted different, perhaps that's what it means to have very fresh seeds. it was thicker and richer and earthier than usual.

Quinoa was also the main item in my large vegan dish, which was somewhat similar, but had a number of other vegetables and mushrooms. There was a kind of a green bean and onions. It too was extremely delicious as was the juice I had, though I'm not sure what it was, something local to the amazon.

They have a neat little tienda there and a I got a number of indigent made foods. I might head back if I learn what some of the indigenous barks and brown powders are.

Kind of the restaurant all the tourists are going before/ after they start a trip into the Amazonas or while staying in leticia. So expect to have other Traveller around you and it wouldn’t be a very local experience. However, it is kind of the only restaurant which is a bit superior to the ones just next to the street where you sit on plastic seats. I don’t mind those restaurants but the food is usually a surprise - with no spanish type of food as well as taste. Before some nights into the jungle I preferred therefore this more touristic restaurant. However, food was really great! Nice taste and atmosphere is also good.
