Zuruma Hotel — Hotel in Leticia

My wife and I ended up here for three nights after a premature departure from one of the eco-hotels. Our stay at Zuruma Hotel was a welcomed, pleasant surprise. The hotel is ideally located at the corner of Cra 8 and Calle 10 within an easy walking distance of the town center, Parque Santander and many restaurants, cafes and bars. ||||The hotel consists of 12 aparto studio units that have been recently renovated, and are maintained in excellent condition. Our room on the ground floor near the swimming pool was comfortable and quiet, and included a full-sized bed and a single bed. For us, the full-sized bed was a bit cramped, so we may good use of the single bed. Both beds were comfortable, and enabled us to slumber in comfort and tranquility for our 3 nights at Zuruma Hotel. A comfortable couch, mini-fridge, computer table and 32" flat screen TV rounded out the amenities in our room. The complimentary WIFI worked well, and remained consistent throughout our stay. The private bathroom was a bit small, but sufficient. ||||Zuruma is a small "mom and pop" type hotel. Our hosts, and the rest of the staff, were helpful and gracious throughout our brief stay at this fine boutique hotel. The staff was particularly helpful and friendly. Every morning at 6:45 am, we were woken by a rap on the door by a member of the staff who brought us coffee and tea. Our room was maintained in immaculate condition during our stay. Our room attendant, Ines, was particularly helpful.||||The common areas of the hotel include a small front lobby, an outdoor dining area/TV room, and a small swimming pool in the courtyard. Included with the room is a complimentary hot breakfast which includes eggs to order. ||||Zuruma is a very nice hotel, with a feeling of "being home. Zuruma Hotel is a clean, well-managed hotel with an excellent staff. The rooms are large, the beds are comfortable, and the common areas are well-maintained and provide opportunities to relax in the pool area or to watch sporting events with other guests. The hotel is secure and one can also watch television, read, or prepare for work activities in one’s room without being disturbed by outside noise. A large and very good breakfast is served each morning and coffee, tea, and water is always available. This hotel says it provides guests with the comforts of home, and this statement is true. The hotel is well located in an area a short walk from the center of Leticia and there are many restaurants and shops nearby. We slept here 2 nights. The staff was very friendly and wanted to help you out. One guy spoke english but most not. |After the first night we went on a trip to the Amazon and of was possible to stall our big suitcases at this hotel. So we could travel with only a light bag with necessities for a couple of nights. When we returned from the jungle 3 days later the staff immediately installed our luggage in the rooms again.
