El Acontista is a charming café in Medellin that offers a delightful blend of jazz memorabilia and a cozy atmosphere. The decor is a jazz enthusiast's dream, with vintage instruments and photos adorning the walls.

I stopped by for a coffee frappé, which was expertly crafted and incredibly satisfying. However, my experience was somewhat marred by the indifferent service.

Despite the café not being overly crowded, it was challenging to get the attention of the staff. Their demeanor seemed somewhat cold and unwelcoming, which was a stark contrast to the inviting ambiance.

While I'm willing to give El Acontista the benefit of the doubt, I believe that the establishment would greatly benefit from more attentive and friendly staff. The service, particularly when it came time to ask for the bill, felt perfunctory and impersonal.

Cool cafe/bar atmosphere and tasty food. We came here for lunch, and enjoyed some chicken, french fries and soup from the menu of the day. The food was delicious and the place was bustling with the local lunch crowd, so it makes for good people watching. They have live jazz on Monday nights that I have yet to check out. I would definitely come back for that! This is also a fun area to walk around during the day and take in the local hustle and bustle of downtown Medellín life. For lunch, they had no menus - only a verbal description of the daily lunch menu, so if your'e Spanish is rocky it's good to be prepared...
