The best typical Colombian food we had in Medellin. We're vegetarian and prefer non-greasy food and this restaurant was perfect. They have a few vegetarian appetizers and two vegetarian main course options. We had the small empanadas stuffed with potato, the patacones (fried plantains) and a main plate of rice, avo, egg and corn cake which also came with a bean stew that had corn and plantain in it. Environment was really nice. It's an upstairs restaurant away from the less desirable street side below. Light and airy atmosphere with an open balcony. Really friendly staff who speak some English and were so helpful.

We came here late Sunday morning and the extensive menu is full traditional Colombian dishes. I ordered the Celentado de Res and my partner ordered Calentado Antequeno It was basically the same dish but mine came with beef and hers with chicharrón Mixture of rice and beans, cheese infused arepa, fried egg and cheese The taste is what you would expect of a Colombian dish and nothing stood out in flavor and I didn’t particularly like the cheese infused arepa The setting and service is amazing! So check it out if you’re looking for traditional, but not if you’re looking for something amazing

What a place! After being greeted downstairs by the lovely lady in a traditional outfit I was allowed entry to head upstairs. Grab a seat on the side of the patio and you can look down to see everyone passing by while you wait patiently for your meal. I ordered the signature Bandeja Paisa! It was just as expected and very well presented. See my pics/videos 😀 I would come here again when I'm around! We came here for lunch and enjoyed the traditional Colombian dishes and it felt like a local place. Between the three of us, we shared the trio starters that came with chicken pastry, beef empanada, potato empanada, potato fritters (all good), calentado antiqueño which is the Colombian full breakfast of beans, rice, sweet plantain, chicharrons with fried egg, cheese arepa, butter and fresh cheese (rich but filling) and the ajiaco (good flavour and decent amount of chicken and potatoes). The service was slow at times but it was still polite.

This is a mandatory visit if you are visiting Medellin. I liked it so much I came back the next day. This restaurant has several locations around the city but there’s something special about dinning at the original location. If you can make it, I recommend coming to this location. The ambiance of the restaurant is pleasant and the surrounding area can be a little overwhelming if you are new in town, but you should be fine if you come during the day. My favorites from the menu: chicharrón, mondongo soup, and the limonada de coco.

Y no me decepcionó.
