I only ate here once and I got a Columbia Rosa beer and a spaghetti pasta fruita de mare.
Believe or not I had just come from a pretty bad experience at another pasta restaurant, Carduff. Here I was welcome when I walked to the front desk which is in the back of the restaurant. I was allowed to sit wherever I wanted to sit. I got a very nice table for one on the patio. It was cozy and as quiet as being in a restaurant off 70 can be. The restaurant smelled wonderful. Everything that came out was looking really good. I receive great service from the waitress and when I asked for a recommendation between what I eventually ordered and the spaghetti bolognese she recommended what I ended up ordering. Let me tell you it came out hot and fresh and the pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce tasted amazing. I really love this pasta. It's the kind of pasta that I love. Perfect amount of sauce. Perfect taste of the spaghetti. The sauce had some muscles and a couple calamari rings and a few pieces of shrimp. I was a bit disappointed that it did not have the octopus that was supposed to be in the dish but it was great the way it was. It wasn't overly expensive and I think I was happy with the price. I was happy with my beer. I was able to eat in peace.
I was charged properly and there was no problems taking my credit card. Easy to leave a tip on the card. Everything went wonderful. I was happy with my meal. I really enjoyed it and I was full. Granted I had already had a bad pasta dish at another restaurant but this is fairly filling. It was served with some cooked pizza dough I assume which I wasn't thrilled about but it was still okay. The check came with some candy. I went home happy. I was at the only one. I saw quite a bit of turnover at the tables and again the food that was coming out looked good and people looked happy with...
Read moreThis has become my “go to” Italian restaurant when in Medellin. Ever time I come I order a pasta dish and an appetizer and the food is consistently excellent.
On several occasions , I’ve had the seafood fettuccine, ravioli with bolognese sauce, salmon with vodka sauce and puttanesca penne . All excellent, right portions.
For the appetizer, I go with the caprese salad with prosciutto. It’s very tasty and comes with enough bread to make a great first course.
The wait staff is very attentive and provide great service. My only complaint is that if you order an appetizer, the main course comes while you’re eating the appetizer. I’ve had to tell the waiter on several occasions to ensure that it’s timed well.
Even to the point where I’ve told him I’d only order the main course AFTER I finish my appetizer. Not sure if it’s just customary here in Colombia to do that - where they bring next course while you’re eating the appetizer- or they just want to turnover the...
Read moreI wanted to edit my review as my partner has experienced a really bad episode of food poisoning after eating the capricciosa pizza at Opera with anchovies. We know it was from here as the only other meal we had yesterday was oats in the morning.
I would avoid this place to be honest. I was so excited to try out this place based on its good ratings. The pizza was bad. The aubergine rolls for starters were good(ish). However the pizza cheese was tasteless and the base tasted honestly like cardboard. It's also not that cheap, we ordered the Margerita with added mushrooms and rocket (but they only had spinach)) the capricciosa pizza with anchovies and 2 Coca Cola's for $80mil. And the anchovies (I'm guessing) have made my...
