Negative: the only bad thing about this room (but it's a major concern) was that the bed is in front of a window showing another room ... and at night if one has the lights on and the other the lights off... you see everything in the other room... even with both stores closed. The towels were quite old and one permanently stained but still clean. The safe was closed without key and we didn't understand how the TV work, but we called the reception and they immediately send the super nice employee who showed us and gave us a key so this is not a concern.
Positives :The personnel is super: reception was very helpful in explaining how the metro worked, where were the places we wished to visit etc. The doorman was always super smiley and helping us immediately whenever we had a request. The young man serving food was also really smiley and there was good service. Another man working on the floor was also always smiley and was greeting us anytime we crossed paths. The room was clean. The price is not high. The neighborhood is great both frequented by locals, expatriate and some tourists. Far from very touristic poblado. But still has a lot of cafes and restaurants nearby, adapted to international travellers tired of comida paisa. There is metro (stadium estación ) at 10 minutes walk. There also is an olympic pool you can go and swim nearby (5 min taxi, 20...
Read moreWe enjoyed our stay here. Staff was very helpful, location was good, breakfast was nice and you can’t beat the price. It is about five blocks to the metro station walking and is very close to restaurants, bars and a small supermarket. |The staff helped us several times getting a taxi and with other questions, Santiago was very courteous and works hard at his job, as do the other members of the staff. |The breakfast was good - you had soup, eggs, potato (or other), arepas, cheese, bread, coffee and juices. (Just understand that in our experience Colombians eat more eggs for breakfast than any other thing - this is not your typical “American “ breakfast)|A few things to know: 1) rooms are on the small side and don’t have a lot of furnishings or space (this isn’t a major hotel chain so keep that in mind) and the bathroom is small. 2)There are mainly about 3-4 outlets for charging your phone (no usb ports) 3) The beds were very firm/hard (this took some getting used to), 4) this hotel is literally steps away from bars/discotecas so consider a white noise app for your phone (we slept fine - but we were tired) - 5) the area around the hotel is a lot different day/night due to its location. |It would be helpful if you spoke Spanish as that would help facilitate...
Read moreMe and a few friends had several rooms in this property near the beginning of the school year. Especially during a pandemic, I was beyond impressed with the level and extent of preparation at this hotel which far exceeded anything I have ever seen in the United States. At the front desk, I found a Laura and Maria, who helped oversee the missing, handwashing, and constant mopping with alcohol of the floors. This felt safer than a hospital. Because of the lockdown that was present, they helped identify safe food delivery services as well as offering the open air cafe for coffee. Again, everything was socially distanced and perfectly run.||The room itself was also fantastic with a great view. Armed with climate control, a comfortable bed, and again not a speck of dust or COVID-19 in sight, it was the most comfortable place I could imagine to rest after a season of disrupted travel. As a country, Colombia is doing a fantastic job of respecting the quarantine and keeping their citizens safe. As a standard, what I witnessed in this hotel should be...
