Hotel Zándalo — Hotel in Medellín

So... I stayed at the hotel with my friends during the choir festival. Can't say if prices are good or not because our stay was paid for, but I can talk about the hotel itself. The lobby is okay, though the dining room gives off some major "School cafeteria" vibes. My room was on the first floor and the room itself had enough space, but the bathroom was tiny! In fact, I had to sit sideways on the toilet because if I sat normally, my knees would touch the wall. The shower wasn't that good--a lot of temperature and water pressure variations and when my friends and I arrived, the air conditioning unit was absolutely filthy inside and we're all allergic. However, once we spoke with the staff about it, they changed out the whole unit! The walls in the room were peeling and may have mold or something in them because we had allergies for the duration of our stay, even though things improved greatly once the air conditioning unit was changed. Food in the restaurant was absolutely delicious and you can buy all sorts of drinks in the lobby. Our room was cleaned every day. I'd say that it's the staff that makes this hotel worthwhile because the structure is just average. The hotel is very well located, near Carrera 70 (where you can find pretty much anything) and not too far from a metro station and the street where the hotel is located seems to be pretty safe. So in all, I think I'd recommend it as long as you aren't very allergic. Or maybe just get one of the rooms higher up as they're bound to be less damp. The beds are very comfortable and...

Inocentemente le creímos al taxista, quien a todas luces JAMAS a sido huésped de este hotel. Técnicamente es imposible dormir por la bulla de los bares de la carrera 70, y cuando por fin cierran los bares, continua la de las personas que entran y salen del hotel, En resumen: son deshonestos en la recepción al no informar de lo que le espera al huésped desde las 6pm, se burlan de mis comentarios y quejas. las ventanas no cierran, el piso esta en mal estado, mire encima del nochero y no la cabía un gramo mas de polvo. El jabón es en un dispensador en mal estado, el agua de la ducha se sale a la habitación ya que la puerta del baño tampoco cierra bien, el papel higiénico es de esos rollos gigantes con la consiguiente incomodidad para sacarlo. las almohadas muy bajitas, duras y yo creo que con cierto mal olor. lastima que le digan "hotel" a este lugar. No lo recomiendo para nada. Y bueno al otro día nos cambiamos de hotel y fuimos a dar a un noveno piso cerca muy cerca de la misma carrera 70, dormimos con menor ruido pero en todo caso si uno quiere paz al dormir, toca en otro sector de Medellin. Decidimos hospedarnos allí por que al buscar el hotel en Internet, se ve un lugar bonito, pero es todo lo contrario, las instalaciones son feas, las habitaciones son chiquitas (aunque el tamaño de la habitación por el precio, es medio aceptable) pero no es nada cómodo, no se ve como en las imágenes, las habitaciones son oscuras, tienen cucarachas, nos dieron toallones manchados, dicen tener agua caliente en la ducha pero siempre salia fría, en nuestra habitación habían botellas de cerveza que obviamente no eran de nosotros, desde muy temprano hay demasiada ruido, y exceden el cupo del estacionamiento, lo cual personalmente nos afecto ya que al momento de hacer el check out y querer sacar el carro no pudimos pues habían mas carros atravesados lo cual nos hizo retrasar y como si fuera poco en el estacionamiento vimos ratas, lo cual nos hace pensar que en todo el hotel habían ratas.
