Unfortunately we were very disappointed by the food.. we came in specifically for the pizza for the sunset and were disappointed by the pizza quality and its ingredients. The ham looked like it was bought at Target or Walmart (you know the one with different meats mashed together?), the dough was unfrozen and did not have anything special about it, same with cheese.
If it were advertised as a fast food pizza place (like PizzaHut) no questions asked. But there was nothing special about it. We felt like we would have gotten a better one at PizzaHut or Dominos..

Read moreVery nice little “restaurant” tucked neatly away from the main drag. This is not the sort of place that you just drive by and decide to check out. Unless you are like us and drive along aimlessly hoping for that special surprise around the corner. And what a surprise it was. This little gem of empanada amazingness did not disappoint. We had three of their meat varieties and one after the other were just as fresh, delicious and piping hot as the one before it.
Highly recommended and bring colones…no credit cards accepted.

Read moreWow. Just wow. We were wandering around after our hike to the Nauyaca Waterfall, and ended up here for a late lunch. We ordered four different empanadas to share, which were all made by the lovely lady working the shop and baked in the wood fired oven when we ordered. It was sooooo delicious!! I honestly couldn’t decide which one I liked the most, they were all that good. The place is tiny, with fantastic branding and a quaint atmosphere. Just two benches and a table to eat, and it was perfect. I’m sad that this place isn’t in Manuel Antonio where we are staying, because I’d go back in...
