Can’t recommend this place enough. The property where this restaurant is located is quite magical and pleasing to the eye. To make matter even better, the staff were very friendly to us: explaining some details about the food and making suggestions. We got tasty natural drinks and for starting we couldn’t choose better with a ‘Choricitos en vino’ it was perfect. For the main entree we got the ‘Seafood Paella’ for 2 (bigger than pictured. That was the first plate of it.) It took a while to cook like 30mins, as noted in the menu, so take that into consideration but it definitely pays off. It’s just simply delicious and the presentation + how they serve it was easily was one of the highlights of our trip. For dessert, we got the ‘Piña flameada con helado’; it was very good too. Last but not least, we got as a treat from the chef a shot of Baileys and Flor de Caña Rum. The chef talked to us a couple of times and we really enjoyed that. Amazing experience and I highly...
Read moreWe were absolutely blown away by how talented the chef was at Sabor Español not only with his “out of this world” ability to create the most delicious food we’ve ever tried, but also with the way he cares for his customer in a way that feels like family.
The food, ambience, vibe and hospitality was a 12/10. I love how much love and time he puts into each dish ordered. The restaurant is small so they really give each person there an exquisite experience.
We’ve never experienced such a romantic place, serving dishes that blew our minds —each item on the menu is such high quality, well flavored and truly a work of art.
We would come to Costa Rica just for this restaurant hands down! It was so amazing that we came back multiple times even though we were only in the area for 5 days.
Best part of our trip and we ended our last evening in Costa Rica here again and it was the most beautiful way to end our travels, we will be back again...
Read moreSuch an amazing place filled with beautiful floral arrangements, amazing staff, and truly wonderful food. The fish of the day was grouper, grilled to perfection served with either a fresh salad (the dressing is made in house with fresh herbs and is slightly sweet), or potatoes which are light and served with a hand made aioli. Shrimp in sweet cream sauce was fresh and cooked perfectly. Normally served with couscous they gladly changed it to their potatoes (or fresh salad) for me because of my allergy to gluten. Chicken in mango salsa was also ordered, it was so flavourful and juice my aunt almost refused to share a bite. Dessert with a flamed pinaapple with ice cream on top. It was delicious!
You should definitely brave the long dirt road to find...
