Server had a bad attitude and horrible service** We had plans to meet at Scala with friends but it was closed. Our friend chose Maracuya as a quick go to in Uvita. The server took our order. I ordered chicken nachos and my husband ordered shrimp tacos. When the order came out it was shrimp plantacones and Chicken tacos. We sent back the food because it was not what we ordered. The female server who took our order came up to us and said I messed up the order and told her chicken tacos. Accusing me of saying something I did not. Very confrontational and a horrible attitude. Instead of arguing We decided not to fix our order and to pass on eating all together while our friends ate their food. She also forgot my daughters fries. I had to walk up to the counter and point out on the menu that the order came with friends and that they never came out. The female server never came back to the table. Not to check on anyone or to have a manager come talk to us. We did not push the issue. With that said we will never go back. Not even for a free meal. Negative energy like hers turned us all the way off. Uvita in general is notorious for bad service. Also, a dog roaming around the restaurant is not a good look either. Note to server. Don’t blame customers for your mistakes. Offer to remake the food you messed up by not writing down the order. We ended up getting to go food from Hola India which was a much better choice with great food and...
Read moreWe ate here several times while staying in Uvita for 6 weeks. It was our go-to spot! They are friendly, dogs are allowed at the tables on the outdoor patio, and the food always hit the spot. Our favorite foods were the hard shell tacos and chifrijo bowls, with whichever protein strikes your fancy. I preferred the fish and shrimp; my bf was partial to the chicken. Burgers were good and large the one time we had them. We also had quesadillas and nachos, which were totally fine, just not quite as awesome as the tacos or chifrijo bowls. We had fruit smoothies several times, always great, and pina coladas, which were strong and delicious. The only thing we ever ordered that was a little odd was the passionfruit cheesecake, which had kind of a surprising jello-y texture instead of being creamy - prob wouldn't order that again. Otherwise, a convenient, comfortable, easy place to get a reliable bite to eat and a cold drink. Thanks Maracuya for making us feel at...
