El Somos Cafe — Restaurant in Cóbano

I gotta say, I’m not really a big coffee drinker but I had a matcha and a coffee here and honestly it was the best coffee I’ve ever had. And the cinnamon roll? Best one of my life, no joke. I love good food and I bake a lot so I’m super picky. There are so many places that get a lot of hype but nothing compares to the cinnamon roll here. I’m excited to try more of the menu and see how everything else is.

El Somos had one of the best flat whites I have ever had. The almond croissant top 5 of my life which I was quite surprised to get given many pastries in Costa Rica don’t stay the best for very long due to the humidity. It was crisp, flakey, and soft on the inside with a really nice filling. I visited for 3 weeks and I was here maybe 10+ times. Great spot to do a little bit of work in the cafe. Staff was all very kind too.

I have been coming to this cute coffee to work, chill and enjoy the incredible pastries and coffee they offer. The staff is really friendly but also professional with great attention to detail. Minnie, Mathilde and Elisa always make you feel welcome. And the pastries...they are the best I have ever had in Costa Rica. The croissants could be proudly served at any boulangerie in Paris.
