Tropical Ceviche
Our Tropical Ceviche is a combination of some classic local ingredients. It contains Onions, Bell Peppers, Passionfruit, Ginger, Cilantro and fresh squeezed lime juice to create a refreshing, complex dish. Best paired with fish and shrimp to complement the natural sweetness of the ingredients. This is one of our most refreshing dishes, perfect for a hot day!
Mexican Ceviche
The Mexican ceviche is a classic, ad loved by people from all over the world. This recipie is probably our most filling style of ceviche as the combination of lime juice and tomato juice make it hearty. This style comes with onions, peppers, cilantro, tomato juice, fresh squeezed lime juice and jalapenos. The spice level can be adjusted to suit your palate, an works best with all of our seafood, but especially octopus.
Mexi-Chino
This particular style was invented here at La Cevicheria, and is based on our classic Mexican, but we add an Asian twist with a dash of sesame oil, and ginger. The flavors work together to create a delicious dish that pairs well with any seafood.
Peruvian
Ceviche was born in Peru, we could not open up a restaurant specializing in the stuff without paying homage to the creators. Our Peruvian ceviche contains onions, leche de tigre, aji pepper sauce, fresh lime juice and work best with fresh fish, ideally Snapper or Corvina. We can make it as spicy as you want, and the delicate flavors all work together to create a very clean and straightforward dish.
Tico Style
Costa Rica has it's own favorite method of preparing ceviche, with the veggies finely diced, lots of cilantro, and plenty of fresh lime juice. This method of preparation ensures you get a bit of everything in each bite, and has a different texture than the other ceviches. This style works well with any of the seafood options that we have.

When we arrived there there were two table outside available but the server wanted to put us inside, in a cubicle close to the kitchen. We insisted we'd prefer to sit outside, she was very rude letting us know that the table was for for people and as we were two she'd prefer to have it for a group, mind all tables are at least for for people. We finally set outside, she never gave us the menu we had to ask someone from the kitchen. No one come to get our order and when we told the waitress next table we were ready to order she said she was busy when we could see literally she was chatting with our server and eating behind the counter. Before we even finished ordering she took the menu from us ans started leaving we had to call her back to finish our order. The whole time we felt we were bothering those two waitress just by being there. We a Ordered 3 types of ceviche, 2 beers and a drink we did not ask for any special accommodations that could make their life harder. We speak fluently Spanish so there was no miscommunication. The food didn't take too long and was good. But not good enough to endure the horrible...

This was an incredible meal. Everything was so fresh and delicious. I had a passion fruit juice (AMAZING) and the “ceviche tico” ( also AMAZING). I had the medium size, medium spicy with mahi and shrimp and it was so good. They serve it with fried plantains which was the perfect accompaniment. It was so fresh and delicious and just a refreshing meal in general. I thought the portion was a good value. Sure you can have less expensive food, but I doubt it would be nearly as enjoyable. The service was excellent, super friendly and I discovered that it is tico owned and employed, which i like to support. It was very clean and they were playing good music. I’m going again tomorrow for the poké bowl and have to return for the ceviche at least one more time. I never leave reviews, but I loved it so much , I had to😊 I also really want to try their whole...

The owner was kind enough to take the fish we caught that day and specially make us several dishes. Hands down, top 5 meals I’ve ever had in my LIFE! I’ve been in the restaurant industry since I was 15 and travelled the world eating anywhere from cracker-box 5 seater sushi places down dark alleys in Tokyo, to Michelin Stars in Paris. I’m insanely impressed. We ate every last morsel leaving “overly content”. The service was also something of an experience. Santa Teresa is super laid back, but slow and not always very attentive- the guys here were awesome! Food came out quickly and presented beautifully. The margaritas we had were perfect too, he listened when I asked him to not make it sweet. Can tell everything is 100% fresh, made with pride and love. Definitely going back...

Their ceviche is out of this world. Different delicious and spicy. Boy that 5 was not a 5 over 10. It was super spicy i still enjoyed it. However the dishes we ordered other than that were lacking in terms of flavor and freshness. Especially the lobster smothered with that sauce to hide what??? A disappointment and disrespect to the lobster in general. the shrimp was good but i wouldn't give it very good or excellent. Am not sure about the other dishes but the fries and the ceviche are very good other wise i would have dropped it to 3 star review. Service is excellent and attentive and the staff are kind and sweet. I went the other day as well but i had only the ceviche and asked for no heat :)

By far the top MUST VISIT food spot in Puntarenas Santa Teresa!! I went in late 2019 with a good friend and we accidentally went when the shop was closed one day a week. We made the trek again the following day and it did not disappoint at all. We loved it so much we came back almost every other day while at surf camp! If I remember correctly, Aron is the owner and main chef and is also from NYC (my hometown!) and opened up shop. The fish is so fresh, the flavors are amazing. The patacon is the bombbbb and goes so well with their ceviche options. Aron recommended his house made sauce, a sprinkle of jalapeño, and salt with our patacones and yalllllllll it’s so mouthwatering good.
