Was recommended this restaurant from other backpackers we met at our hostel and were not disappointed!
It was easy to find by looking out for the sign with the witch flying on her broom. We were directed to the back of the property by a gentlemen near the entrance and found the restaurant. We went for dinner at 5pm and had the option of sitting inside or outside as it wasn't too busy at that time. We sat outside in a large area and had our drinks order taken quite quickly. The menu is extensive and you can also request an English version which made it so much easier for us as our Spanish is limited.
The servings are generous in size to say the least! I ordered a sample platter with meats, chicken wings, fried cheese, make your own fajitas, wedges and tortillas for around ¢9600 - it was more suited to 2 people than just myself but was excellent!!! The boys ordered the grill plate for 2 with salad and again, so much meat came out! The gentleman who delivered our plates was lovely and funny and halfway through us eating he came back carrying a platter saying he had another one for us - by this time we were not even half way through our plates and looked up in horror and the thought of us having accidentally ordered another plate, but no, he was just having a laugh as he was taking that order to another table.
Our first waitress didn't speak any English (she was lovely though!) and the lady who finalised our order spoke some and understood when we asked to take home our leftovers (soooo much leftover ha).
Great atmosphere, great food, definitely...
Read morePrize to food quantity ratio was ok and the taste was great on the sirloin I had, with my only complaint in that area being an excess of mayo on the baked potato. I was not thrilled with the service as my wife was initially told she "could not change" the sides on her dish but was then brought different sides from the ones she asked for and the ones that were supposedly not changeable. When she brought this to the waitress' attention she was told that's what she asked for, which wasn't correct, and in a demeaning tone and "offered" to be brought the original "unchangeable" item as a "side" (with an additional charge). I don't fully blame the waitress as the place was packed and she seemed to be overloaded with more tables than she could handle, but paying a larger prize should also include exceptional service not...
Read moreMy sister and I came here hoping for the same delicious food we’ve been getting since being in Panama, but we were disappointed. Also note that speaking Spanish will help you navigate this city, and probably get you better service.
I ordered what I thought was pork, but it tasted like chicken. I was adamant (and perhaps wrong) that I had the wrong order, but my waiter stressed that the order was correct. With that being said I didn’t enjoy what I had anyway. My sister got a chicken dish and soup, which were all winners in her book.
The decor is intense, with masks and statues peppering the restaurant. There is a video that loops, showing live performances that take place every so often at the restaurant. If you like themed places, eat...
