Suzanne and I have stayed at Clarita's many times, now, and we do so be choice. The hotel is cozy, quaint, clean and comfortable. Not a lot of frills or extras, but we're not in the market for the all inclusive kind of stuff. The whole place is well tended and clean. The pool is always sparkling and clear. Weekends get a little crowded with folks from San Jose on a beach getaway. It is crazy quiet and peaceful during the week. Awake security every night. We have never had a problem with safety or security in all the times we've stayed here. The bar and grill begins service rather early in the morning and continues on until late at night. Good food and drinks and service. The bar is a prime meeting place for friends, sunset on the beach, or a great night partying. ||||Room is cleaned daily and is spotless after those ladies are done. We've made many friends here, and look forward to renewing friendships with each visit. If you're lucky, you can buddy up with Clarito, the unofficial owner. He's big, slow and friendly, but He's not starving, no matter how much he begs for handouts. ||||All of the staff are friendly and in good spirits. They work their tails off for the patrons. ||||Room rates are available on the website, but you can't find a better deal for a beach front hotel in Jaco. If you like laid back and easy going, Clarita's is the...
Read moreWe went deep sea fishing earlier in the day and brought our fish to Clarita's to include with our meal. We were offered to cook all our fish, served with rice, beans and plantain. The cost was $20.00 each for the three of us. The price seemed high, but we were hungry and the beach atmosphere at sunset was wonderful. Our meal came rapidly, and the service was efficient and friendly. Unfortunately, they kept half of our fish and substituted a cheaper, deep-fried, boney fish (pargo) for our beautifully prepared grouper fillets. When I complained that they did not serve our fish to us, I got the "I'm caught but will pretend I don't understand" look. I kick myself for not being able to adequately converse in Spanish. In short, I suggest going somewhere else if you have your own fish to prepare. Additionally, if honesty is important to you, I would avoid this business. There are numerous other restaurants that more deserve your tourist dollars.
I have been contacted by Clarita's management for additional details. They provided an email address "management@claritashotel.com" which is non-deliverable. Therefore, I am responding to them here. Date: Tuesday, December 3, 2024 Time: approximately 5:30 PM Should I be surprised that the response to my review appears...
Read moreWe first visited clarita's 6 years ago when we began coming to Costa Rica it was a wonderful experience as we were staying there and they treated us wonderfully but since then every time we go there now and I'm thinking it's because we were not locals but we are now and are still treated the same we get ignored quite often in fact one day just about a month ago my husband and I went there and while three people passed us and looked at us never stopped to talk to us then a couple of local girls came in sat down and they were served immediately while we still waited it was when I actually put my hand up to a waitress that she actually responded after that we went there with some of our friends and the only reason why we got treated well then is because our friends happen to have two little children which The waitresses loved otherwise we were completely ignored I have seen the signs that say clarita's new experience well if the new experience means that you are ignored then no thank you I hope that this will improve in the future because we do like the place but we refuse to be treated like...
