My wife asked the gentleman working for his recommendation on a dish between two. One was about $11 and the other was $18 and he recommended the more expensive one without a single question about what she might like, he didn’t even let her finish before he was telling her the $18 plate. It was garlic shrimp with potatoes, and veggies. The veggies were fresh but the overall plate was tiny and the shrimp were flavorless. She was still hungry when we were done with dinner.
She also ordered a margarita that was good but didn’t taste like any alcohol was in it so it was basically a mango smoothie. He also brought me a beer without my request, when I said I didn’t order a beer, he said I’d like it and then charged me for it.
I ordered the birria tacos. I asked if anything else came with the tacos and he said no but they it was enough. For $13 I got 3 tiny tacos..they couldn’t have been more than 4” tortillas, that were very lightly filled with the meat and a boat load of cheese.

Read moreThe fajita is good, the nachos are okay, the tacos are very disappointing. Our server clearly did not want us there for lunch and gave us scowls and dirty looks the entire time. The other employees seemed to dismiss us and seemed very put off that we were even there. They charged for water (haven't seen that in Costa Rica before), they serve the fajita(s) with one (1) tortilla and then charge per tortilla to finish the plate. The fajitas should be served with four tortillas, at least from the start. The tacos are fried tortillas with cheese and the presence of meat served with an oily sauce. The tacos had no flavor. Our server recommended them and it was a very poor recommendation on her part. Do yourself a favor and drive up to Phoenix Restaurante instead, best food in the area with the most incredible chef in all...

Our server clearly did not want us there for lunch and gave us scowls and dirty looks the entire time, despite really trying with Spanish. They charged for water (haven't seen that in Costa Rica before), they serve the fajita(s) with one (1) tortilla and then charge per tortilla to finish the plate (at least four). The tacos are fried tortillas with cheese and the technical presence of meat served with an oily sauce too runny and bland to enjoy in a cup not much bigger than a thimble. If you must go, skip all the rest and enjoy the fajita. If you can, drive up to Phoenix Restaurante instead, best food...
