I really liked the food here. Although a bit pricey, it was good. I got the Casado de pollo with a giant fruit smoothie. The Casado came with two fried plantain patties (think a flat, thin, crispy disc), a hearty portion of gallo pinto (rice and beans), fettuccine, salad, two maduros (ripe plantains), a little container with a homemade salsa, and of course, chicken. The chicken was very tasty and juicy. Definitely recommend.

Read moreBest food I had in Costa Rica! Each dish was so tasty and really showed the chef's dedication to authenticity and quality ingredients, and the love and passion that goes into it! I had a very generous portion of rice and beans with mixed seafood, which was divine (I love that it came in a bowl made of patacones!) as was the guanabana fresh juice. Also, make sure you try the mango chili condiment "chilera de mango," which they also make in-house, it's absolutely delicious. Service was also great, and the atmosphere was lovely! Overall, Sr. Patacone is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience the flavors of Costa Rica in a welcoming and cozy setting! Can't wait to...

They use a lot of plantains in the dishes and it's something I really enjoyed! Flavors and portions were fantastic. Another great thing is if you're nervous about leaving your car alone on the street, locals will watch your car while you eat, please tip them it's so nice! Also the pic of the bowl doesn't do it justice in terms of portions. I eat a lot and that was plenty plus you get patacones on the side, which is large plantain tortilla...
