I really liked the food here. Although a bit pricey, it was good. I got the Casado de pollo with a giant fruit smoothie. The Casado came with two fried plantain patties (think a flat, thin, crispy disc), a hearty portion of gallo pinto (rice and beans), fettuccine, salad, two maduros (ripe plantains), a little container with a homemade salsa, and of course, chicken. The chicken was very tasty and juicy. Definitely recommend. The atmosphere is like most restaurants we’ve been to. Indoor/outdoor seating, no AC but if you pick a spot with a breeze or a fan you should be good. Ask them for the bug repellant machine, which is a small battery operated fan that stands upright and helps swat away bugs

Best food I had in Costa Rica! Each dish was so tasty and really showed the chef's dedication to authenticity and quality ingredients, and the love and passion that goes into it! I had a very generous portion of rice and beans with mixed seafood, which was divine (I love that it came in a bowl made of patacones!) as was the guanabana fresh juice. Also, make sure you try the mango chili condiment "chilera de mango," which they also make in-house, it's absolutely delicious. Service was also great, and the atmosphere was lovely! Overall, Sr. Patacone is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience the flavors of Costa Rica in a welcoming and cozy setting! Can't wait to be back again!

We’ve had dinner there and found the food to be quite good, the steaks were good, we’ve ordered different types and the ribeye was certainly the winner of them all (inc. the Fillet steak) The drinks were quite large, from the pineapple juice to my margarita The two downsides we found were: - we sat outside and just next to where we sat there were people in the street lingering about, almost fighting and shouting, that has stressed my kids a bit - the service isn’t as attentive outside Just to summarise, the culinary side of the meal was very satisfying

So yum!! I got the entrana bowl. Stopped here randomly, we were all super hungry after adventuring and came upon Sr. patacon. Ive never had food like this and I loved it!! They use a lot of plantains in the dishes and it's something I really enjoyed! Flavors and portions were fantastic. Another great thing is if you're nervous about leaving your car alone on the street, locals will watch your car while you eat, please tip them it's so nice! Also the pic of the bowl doesn't do it justice in terms of portions. I eat a lot and that was plenty plus you get patacones on the side, which is large plantain tortilla...
