If you’d like to make a purchase and have help with furniture taken from the back stock, get ready to wait for 1 hour! First you need to ask for it at customer service and wait around and repeatedly ask for updates. Then you need to wait more after you pay for someone to come and help you just to take the items out to the parking. In this time, I was able to arrange for transportation from Coco, the transportation arrived and they comfortably waited another 20 minutes for someone from the store to help us transport the items. At the end of the safe I’m told that the cashier cashed out the wrong patio set and had to waste more time at customer service to change the order so that I can pay yet again at the cashier.

Absolutely the most terrible service here every time guaranteed. The customer service desk is terrible, everyone has attitude and takes forever to do anything. Unfortunately we need to purchase things here for our business, and of course we are never treated like important clients because in this store this doesn’t exist.

Worst part is that I’m fluent in Spanish so there is no language barrier. Just terrible and slow service…everytime guaranteed 👍🏼

UPDATE: I got home after paying hundred dollars in shipping to realize that they gave me a different colour than what’s at the display. No one said a word that there are even different colours.

Incompetence is just at a different level at this store. You have to think of behalf of the employees because thinking is not part of their job description.

Update: wrote to the store about that happened and they responded. They don’t have any great sets left so they offered to cover the cost of bring it back to the store and refunding us. The money we lost in shipping it to Coco is on us of course.

Avoid this happening to you and don’t trust the workers at the store. They are trained only up to making sure that you pay for the right item, but not that you bring the right item with you in terms of...

I've visited this store three times recently because my car was full. I was in town purchasing from other stores, as well. My first impression of the store was that I was blown away. Their snack foods are very cheap, and I found reasonably priced peanut butter, American jelly, Fritos and Jalapeno Cheetos (which I haven't even seen in San Jose). In fact, all of their prices can't be beat.

They carry all kinds of home organization items, small appliances, dishware, exercise equipment, home decoration items, cheap cleaning products, clothing, children"s toys, car cleaning and other car supplies, furniture, etc.

However, I was treated quite differently at the entrance, checkout and exit because I'm American. I watched this go on with other Americans as well.

They insisted I check my purse in a flimsy locker. This is one reason I returned on another day. They did not make an effort to load my basket or offer assistance with my purchases. At the exit, the "door checker" allowed all the locals to pass me in line. In fact, I could tell this was business as usual for the employees and locals. I literally stood in the doorway on 2 occasions for over 15 minutes waiting to be checked at the exit while local families pushed and shoved in front of me in a very offensive manner. One family of four went around me with two baskets, and their age "5ish" child called me a bad name in Spanish...

I have never experienced this behavior in any other store in CR, and I've lived here for two years and make an effort to shop local. I will not return. They had a patio table I wanted, but it's not worth it. I'll drive 4 hours to San Jose to shop Pricesmart.

If you are from the US, the best way to describe this store is that it’s a cross between “Big Lots,” “Pricesmart” and “Home Goods.” They off everything including home and garden, groceries, furniture, clothing, decor, kitchenware, and more. If you find something that you like, buy it right then! The inventory is always changing so it might not be there when you return next time. You can find some really great gems—I’ve found artwork, dishes, and decor that was surprisingly perfect for the price! Highly recommended if you need basics...
