If you come here expecting a museum, you'll be disappointed. But if you come expecting to get to wander round an historic building, with fascinating remnants of its life as a former prison, after being a garisson, you'll have a great time. There was no entry fee to get in, it was a donation box.
Liberia is not such a touristy place, so it was nice to have somewhere to go and get a chance to interact with the locals and brush up on our pigeon Spanish.

Read moreStill not a museum in any real sense of the word. It could be really great, but it still just seems to be an abandoned building used for community groups. With a bit of imagination there is a certain interest-value in the building itself, but nothing to make it a destination. It is such a shame that a project to make a museum seems to have stalled - there is not really any information about this being the ultimate goal, if indeed it still is, and therefore it is quite odd that it is still marked as a museum.
