Casa Almendro — Restaurant in Puntarenas

This is my favorite go to restaurant in Puntarenas for several reasons. The food is always consistent, waiters are very attentive and accommodating. I have tried several different dishes here and enjoyed them all. Because I would now call myself a frequent flyer here. Waiters greet me upon arrival. I feel special that they remember what I like and never rush me. There are four waiters who service this restaurant Minor, Luis & Marlon who speak mostly Spanish and Keylor who can speak English & Spanish are all very friendly. They all take time to have a conversation with you which is really nice. I have tried other restaurants in Puntarenas local sodas are great but the only restaurant in the area which provides great service every time you visit is this one. The price of a meal is more than a local soda but in my eyes well worth it. Especially for those visiting the area via cruise ship. It's a walk down the boulevard to your left but worth the walk. The restaurant is housed in an house which seems to date from the first to second quarter of the 20th century, and which restored to look as if built yesterday. The food looked amazing, the waiter was courteous, they have various possibilities for sitting and we actually sat outside, which added to the christmas decorations gave a feeling of being in a quite unique place - we arrived with the twilight, which just helped to build a nice atmosphere. We had a nice time in Casa Almendro, they are so nice and the service is fast. The location is beautifull, you can choose from tables in one of the 2 terrazas or inside the place, but being that close to the beach is nice to be outside in the front terraza to enjoy the wind from the ocean.
