I took my parents for a one day trip to Puntarenas so they could enjoy the beach and the local food. I had actually planned to visit restaurants located slightly off Paseo de los Turistas, but my parents wanted to go to a nearby place, and so we went to this place. The staff was really nice and attentive. No complaints there. The place is a basic restaurant, with no distinctive atmosphere. The food wasn't good, as the dishes we ordered were heavy on salt, and the ceviche fish was really tough (didn't feel like a fresh, high-quality ceviche). The sauces for the Creole dishes we had were really good, and the octopus and shrimp were cooked just right. Unfortunately the sauces were a bit on the salty side, and although the vegetables were decent and buttery, they seemed like they were canned or frozen. The ceviche sauce was also very very salty, in fact it tasted like half a can of clam juice got put into it. It's unfortunate, because the seafood seemed very fresh and very tasty. But for the price, I would expect better ceviche and better...

I had only shrimps in masshrom sauce and it was delicious, rice was little dry but for a hungry tummy not a problem.
