The food was good and served in average time but the price is higher than that of other restaurants in the area. In Costa Rica you have to pay 10% for the service and 13% in government taxes but when you go to pay to the cashier, they overcharge your check to the point that almost double thr price that appears in the menu. The first time that we went, most members of the group were complaining that the checks were to high and not according the the amounts posted in the menu book. The second time that we went, only a member of the group wanted to go but we finally went and at the end I asked the cashier to explain to me in details all the charges and he lowered from 33.00 dollars to 27.00 dollars. I calculated the amount that I was supposed to pay and resulted that it was 26.91 dollars which clearly demonstrated to me that the cashier recognised that he was overcharging. This felt like a rare instance of actually experiencing a day in the life of a Costa Rican. Relaxed meal with a view of families across the street spending a day at the beach, some soccer on TV, and no entitled overweight pasty people (I am two of three).
My Spanish is not great, but I feel it is important to try (when in Rome). This was the only place during the entirety of my trip where the server took the time and patience to gently correct me, but did not switch to English. During our travels of Costa Rica I struggle to remember being the only non local in a restaurant.

Read moreService stunk. couldn't get a waiters attention.We waited 15 or so minutes to get menus.Never did get waters, Gave one my 6 year olds, an alcohol filled strawberry smoothie, our refill for a lemonade was a watermelon juice. The people that came in with a large group after us got menus right away and ordered before us. needless to say we waited a solid 45 minutes for our food from there. food was mediocre. when we payed our bill they have some seriously convenient math.They do their invoices in american dollars, but we needed to pay in colon. We were overcharged by 5000 colones or about 10 american dollars. Pick a different restaurant !!!!! we come down annually, but wont be back...
