CAPRICHOS RESTAURANTE PIZZERIA — Restaurant in Tamarindo

Wow. This is now my favorite place to eat in Tamarindo. Here on a week-long vacation and ate at Caprichos two times. The first night I decided to try the pizza and craft beer special. My wife had a shrimp salad, my son had the smash burger and my daughter had the kid’s meal burger and fries. Everything was delicious. Had to come back for a second meal and tried all new dinner items. I had the Milanesa steak neopolitana-style, my son had the fish and chips, my daughter had the kid’s ham and cheese empanadas, and my wife had the ceviche. So delicious again! We also tried a couple of their blended fruit drinks - I had the pineapple, ginger and peppermint smoothie. That’s the tastiest drink I’ve had in tamarindo! Very refreshing! My wife tried the passion fruit and peppermint drink - also amazing. The ambience is perfect for couples or families. Cozy and casual but still nice enough to enjoy a glass of wine or craft beer. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food. Matteo was our waiter and he provided excellent service. I will definitely be back next time we come...

We decided to stop at Caprichos for a couple of beers on our way back from the beach as it was the only bar we had come across while walking along the beach that was clearly stating how much their drinks would cost during their happy hour. We immediately liked the place and were happy with our choice (it’s not easy when nearly every other building on the beach and the streets is a restaurant or a bar). The staff was friendly and attentive, lovely settings (not right on the beach but still with the same vibes and great for people watching 😉), and the drinks very reasonably priced (even outside the happy hour). We liked it so much that we went to see the sunset and came back for another drink and ordered two very yummy pizzas. The following evening we went there again for dinner and ordered fish milanesa style with Sicilian sauce. Beautiful! We ate here because it had good reviews for service, quality, and value. The menu seemed average until the food arrived. We had a tenderloin empanada for an appetizer with chimmichurri sauce, and the bread on it was so fresh and delicious. The waitress read that we were hungry and brought us popcorn. I had a tenderloin cuts sandwich with a salad and it was large and perfect. My cousin had the Ceviche with fresh chips and was ridiculously amazing, chopped very fine. The sunset we saw o er the bay and island in the background was picturesque. Such an amazing restaurant and service. Also had 2 drinks each with a bill for $40. Best I've seen in Tamarindo. I usually won't eat at a restaurant twice on vacation but it is very exceptional. The straws were stainless, being conscious and considerate of beach trash. I suspect a high level chef put together...
