🚨 OCHO IN TAMARINDO IS RUN BY THIEVES – AVOID AT ALL COSTS! 🚨 If you value your belongings and don’t want to be robbed, stay far away from Ocho. This place is run by dishonest, shady staff who will steal from you, lie to your face, and then mock you for catching them.

I accidentally dropped my AirPods out of my bag. When I realized they were missing, I went back to ask the staff. They flat-out lied, pretended to check, and assured me they hadn’t seen them. Something felt off, but I left.

Then I used Find My iPhone—and sure enough, my AirPods were inside Ocho, hidden in a cupboard.

I went back, searched the place myself, and found them stuffed away exactly where my phone had tracked them. As soon as I grabbed them, the staff—who had been watching me the entire time—let out a disappointed cheer, actually upset that I had recovered my own property. Let that sink in.

I asked for the manager, expecting at least some form of apology or explanation. Instead, they just gave excuses—zero remorse, zero accountability. No one even pretended to be surprised. Because they weren’t. They knew exactly what they were doing.

If I hadn’t been able to track my AirPods, they would have been gone forever. This wasn’t a misunderstanding—this was outright theft. And judging by their reaction, I’m almost certain they’ve done this before.

To make matters worse, I also ordered an iced latte while I was there. It was absolutely disgusting—undrinkable, just like the integrity of this place.

Tamarindo has plenty of amazing beach bars—Ocho is NOT one of them. Avoid this scam of a business unless you enjoy getting robbed by the very people you’re paying. Tell your friends, spread the word, and spend your money somewhere that actually respects its customers.

My recent visit to OCHO Beach Club in Tamarindo was marred by an incident that should serve as a stark warning to anyone planning a trip here. Enjoying the sun loungers and their menu was our initial plan, but what unfolded was deeply unsettling. Upon leaving, I accidentally left my AirPods on a sun lounger. When my son returned to retrieve them, staff claimed they hadn't seen the AirPods—though they did find some swim ear protectors I’d also forgotten.

The situation escalated when my son used the FindMy app to trace the AirPods back to the club. The app led him directly to a cupboard in the bar staff area, where, shockingly, the AirPods were concealed behind cleaning supplies. What’s more disturbing, he was under the watchful eyes of three staff members who audibly expressed their disappointment when he located them. Their behavior was a blatant display of dishonesty and lack of integrity.

Approaching the manager with these facts resulted in no apology, no commitment to address the staff's actions—just a dismissive remark of unawareness. This experience not only left a sour taste but also a clear picture: the staff at OCHO Beach Club are seemingly comfortable with pilfering guest possessions.
