It was our first day, after all the traveling we were starving. Saw this restaurant had 4.5 stars and gave it a try. The COSTA RICAN waiter acted like he didn’t understand us in either language (we spoke English and spanish) when we asked him about the tacos and he was never clear. So three of us asked for 2 TACOS EACH. Then I asked about how big how big the quesadillas were and he wouldn’t answer me obviously because he wanted us to order more than what we needed or wanted so we ordered one quesadilla. When he brought our food, he brought a huge quesadilla and so many orders of the tacos (which are actually tostadas NOT tacos). We told him we only wanted 2 tacos each for 3 of us, then he argued with us CLEARLY saying “oh no, you ordered TWO ORDERS of tacos so that’s 6 tacos for each person. I can’t take it back” HOW FREAKIN CONVENIENT YOU’RE CLEAR NOW AND DIDN’T ASK US IF WE WANTED TWO TACOS OR TWO ORDERS OF THE 3 TACOS. How can a 130 lb woman possibly eat all that?!! He still charged us for the food we didn’t want and ADDED A TIP. We were so upset. Paid and left disappointed. The food was not 4 star worthy. The whole experience was horrible. Avoid this place...
Read moreDONT EVER GO TO THIS PLACE!!!! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! We stopped in for two drinks and 2 shots before having dinner somewhere else. We ordered 2 Moscow mules and 2 shots. When we get the check we were charged for 2 Cadillac margaritas as our Moscow mules. If you know anything about alcoholic drinks you know that Cadillac margaritas are on the top shelf end of things. Our Moscow mule had bottom shelf liquor in it. When we asked why we were charged for something we didn’t order we were told they didn’t have a bottom on the computer for Moscow mules. They tried to steal our money in front of our face. When I asked the owner what type of alcohol was in my Moscow mule I was told that “I don’t speak English” and put his hand in my face. Then we were told if we didn’t pay for the drinks they would call the cops. I have never had such a horrible experience in Costa Rica. We live here and these people thought we were from out of town and thought they could try to rip us off because we wouldn’t notice. Watch out for people and...
Read moreThe best food in the area. Hands down. We visited at 3pm for a late lunch. A few tables occupied, but Yayi greeted us immediately. Very welcoming.
I needed to stand for awhile so we chose the bar. Ordered a Pepsi and a beer to start. I had no idea what I was in the mood to eat.
Yayi was fantastic. Recommended the grill of the house and it was divine. Just divine. I had told her my other half is allergic to shrimp so she chose something without seafood for us.
There was the prettiest avocado flower on the top of the mixed grill. Also had grilled pineapple, plantain, ribs, chicken, cheese and a mound of veggies hid under it all.
We are big eaters and could only finish half of the plate. Every item on it was so flavorful. My boyfriend asked for hot sauce and was given 3 choices. One was perfectly hot for his taste.
If you are near here, you must try it....
