My dining experience at The Rural in Tamarindo was nothing short of exceptional. From start to finish, the meal was a memorable highlight of my visit to Tamarindo.
Ambiance: The Rural boasts a warm and inviting atmosphere with a rustic yet elegant décor that perfectly complements its name. The ambiance is cozy and relaxed, with a charming blend of natural materials and tasteful furnishings. The open layout and soft lighting create a comfortable space that encourages leisurely dining and conversation.
Service: The service at The Rural was impeccable. From the moment we arrived, the staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic about the menu. They provided excellent recommendations and ensured that all our needs were met with a smile. The team’s professionalism and friendliness enhanced the overall dining experience significantly. Especial recognition to Tatiana the Restaurant Manager she was outstanding.
Cuisine: The food at The Rural was outstanding. The menu features a range of dishes that highlight local ingredients and culinary traditions with a creative twist. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with fresh, vibrant flavors.
Appetizers: We started with a selection of appetizers that were both inventive and delicious. The ceviche was a standout, with perfectly marinated fish and a refreshing mix of citrus and herbs.
Main Courses: For the main course, I opted for the grilled seafood platter, which was a delight. The seafood was expertly cooked, with a smoky char and tender texture. The accompanying sides, including roasted vegetables and a flavorful quinoa salad, complemented the main dish beautifully. My dining companions enjoyed the farm-to-table steak, which was juicy, well-seasoned, and cooked to perfection.
Drinks: The drink menu at The Rural was thoughtfully curated, featuring a selection of local wines, craft cocktails, and fresh juices. The signature cocktails were particularly noteworthy, blending creative ingredients with a high level of craftsmanship such as the "Chiliguaro."
Overall Experience: Dining at The Rural was a truly remarkable experience. The combination of exceptional food, attentive service, and inviting ambiance made it a standout choice in Tamarindo. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, The Rural offers a dining experience that is both delightful and memorable. I highly recommend it for anyone seeking a top-notch meal in a...
Read moreI hate to do this but I feel like it is needed. The food here is great and I have been coming here since they opened. Recently the prices were increased dramatically which was alarming but that's Tamarindo for you. I was able to ignore that and continued eating there. However, the other night I placed an order to go. I picked up the food and paid $30 for two local casados. I asked for their chilero (spicey veggie mix with a vinegar base) which is served with EVERY LOCAL RESTAURANT IN THE COUNTRY. They tried to give me hot sauce and I declined and asked again for the chilero. At this point in time they said that I need to pay for it. I said I have never had to pay for it before and they responded with a new rule that chilero is only free for people that eat at the restaurant, if you get your food to go, you need to pay for it. Im sorry, but this has to be the dumbest rule I have ever heard in my life. I asked them if I decide to sit down to eat the food at the restaurant, I would get it for free? They said yes... I asked what is the difference if I eat the chilero at the restaurant or add it to my to go box and eat it at home? They said if I take it to go I must pay for it. Needless to say, I declined their sale of something that is always free. And unfortunately, they lost my business. And over something so silly. When someone spends that kind of money, why nickle and dime them to death over something that is...
Read moreThis reataurant is located a few miles away from downtown Tamarindo. It is a really noce little place. Clean, bright, open porche with a nice menu from breakfast to dinner.
We ordered a horchata drink, it was soooo good! To eat we got a chifrijo, a burrito and a cheese empanada. They were all really good. But I think the winner was the empanada. The chifrijo is a mix of beans, rice, pico, avocado and chicharron. The chicharron was really not chicharron, it was carnitas. I was hoping for crunchy pieces of pork but instead was large pieces or pork. Was not that good.
My husband loved his burrito :)
This place gets packed at dinner time from 7 to 8, so plan ahead since service can be slow from...
