The guy that owns and runs it is amazing, super helpful, even gave us a sample of a couple local beers so we could decide on what to get. We got 4 empanadas, I had two vegan ones and my buddy had the 2 special ones. All of them were amazing and we really enjoyed the local beer as well. We ordered a side of fries and they were very tasty proper fries, which is a little harder to find in Costa Rica. When he delivered our food he gave us some great sauces and explained them well. All were good and none were too spicy. It's in the back of a plaza so it's a little hard to find, but the walk to find it is definitely worth it.

I was on a hunt for the best empanadas, and I found them! Chop House is located in a mall with great ambience. Tables had fun games to play while you wait for your food. Service was great for this family owned business. They put so much care into their food - and it shows. We tried the beef and chicken empanadas, jalapeño cheese fritters, and a burger and fries to share. Everything was amazing. The house made chimmichurri was incredibly flavourful. I will definitely need to dine here again before the end of my trip.

amazing empanadas. a lot of care and skill went into making this menu. a pumpkin empanada with onions and cheese is unfortunately not a typical offering anywhere close to home that i have seen. we are from new york, where all empanadas are fried - these are baked with the inside perfectly cooked and flavorful. i highly recommend leaving the commercial area of tamarindo for a bite at chop it. we ordered once, and decided to sit down for more. and the owners are awesome, which is the foundation of any great eatery.

We’ve been going to Chop House for a few years now - we live about 40 minutes away and it is always worth the stop when we’re in Tamarindo. We love the burgers, the empanadas, the salads and the milanesas - the food is always so flavorful. The other day when I was there I grudgingly ordered a salad with my burger instead of the fries (which are awesome, natural-cut fries but I was trying to be a little bit healthier) and it was so fresh and delicious I will probably always get the salad now. The owners and their staff are super friendly and helpful. I don’t think they have ever made a mistake on our order and we make lots of annoying requests (no sauce, side chipotle, etc etc). Love the fresh juices and craft beers on tap. Can’t say enough about these guys and the awesome business they have created here! Looking forward to enjoying their place for many...

Tucked in the back of mall. It has a nice seating area and a trampoline for kids to play on. They also offered us Jenga to play, which we did. At first i was skeptical, as we were just looking for a quick bite to eat and its located in a mall. However, I was really impressed. The food was top notch. I got the bacon cheeseburger, my daughter got the kids burger and my son the chicken fingers. My wife really enjoyed the pumpkin empenada. My daughter liked it so much, she asked for again a few nights later when we were looking for food after a long day. My wife and I stopped by the Chop House during our trip to Tamarindo Dec 2023. We had a chance to meet and talk with the owner who was an awesome person with a great backstory, plus we both shared a love for the FooFighters and Dave Grohl. We ordered the BigHouse at his suggestion which is similar to a BigMac in terms of toppings, sauce, etc…. and wow. I can say without doubt that the burger was easily in the top 3 I’ve ever eaten.
