Antica Pizzeria Napoletana (Santa Ana) — Restaurant in Uruca

After trying the pizza at Cerro Lodge in Tárcoles, we finally made it to the Santa Ana location inside Hotel Luisiana. 🍕 Antica Pizza is no ordinary spot—it’s earned awards for Best Pizza during Pizza Week Costa Rica and even ranked among the Top 35 Gourmet Pizzas in Naples, Italy!

We went with our friends on s Sunday at 2:00, and for the first time ever in Costa Rica, we actually had to wait for a table. That alone tells you how popular this place has become!

The wood-fired Neapolitan pizza lived up to the hype—but the real showstopper was the charcuterie board, piled high with imported Italian meats, fresh arugula with tomatoes, and warm bread. Absolute perfection.

No doubt, Antica Pizza just earned a spot on our favorites list. Life is good in Costa Rica....

Pizza is great, nothing to discuss there. However, the first time I visited (June 1) there was a HUGE cockroach in the main room. Some of us started calling the waiters to handle the situation, but they were not paying attention to clients. Another client got up and killed it. Very very disgusting, the whole situation could've been avoided by simply following a protocol all restaurants should have to stick to Ministerio de Salud rules. Second time, the staff was discussing over a loaf of bread and this went on for over 30 minutes. They stopped all tasks and didn't pay attention to clients' requests due to the internal situation they had. Both times the restroom was a disaster. Looks like it is cleaned only once a...

Hoy al fin fui a probar la pizza, le han hecho muy buena publicidad con muchos buenos comentarios así que tenía muchas ganas de probarla, pedimos la Margherito Sbagliato y la 4 Stagioni, sé que todos tenemos gustos diferentes y para gustos colores, no es mi intención criticar el negocio solo dar mi opinión personal y la de las otras dos personas que comieron conmigo, he de decir que nos pareció muy sobrevaluada, la masa es rica y suave en definitiva pero el resto me pareció bastante normal, nada especial, y por tanto muy caro pues además son personales, pequeñas, yo no como mucho ni me estaba muriendo de hambre y sentí que me comí un bocado y ya solo me quedaba el pan del borde para tratar de llenarme y no es mi intención al comer pizza llenarme de pan. He probado más ricas, mucho más grandes, con más cantidad de "relleno" y a mejor precio aquí en Costa Rica. Además me salió tremendo pelo en la Margherito mezclado entre el queso, me tuve que aguantar el asco porque no la iba a botar pues es cara y fue para llevar así que tampoco la podía cambiar, no debí hacerlo porque quedé con asco y dolor de estómago. Creo que cuando hay mucha expectativa también puede haber más decepción y se le ha hecho mucha bulla, el lado positivo es que en definitiva ya se me quitó el antojo. La atención del personal fue muy amable y el lugar me apareció agradable y tranquilo, me gusta que es muy rústico. Si fuera más grande y con más ingredientes de "relleno" estaría bien pues hablamos de 15mil colones en una pizza personal y nada más, que con un par de bocaditos ya solo nos queda el pan, que hablando de la Margherito es relleno de queso ricotta, pero que lo hicieron para un pajarito, solo boronitas, es muy poquito y es muy húmeda. No la podría recomendar.

Me pregunto si hace 100 años me habría gustado, o llenado, aunque con el precio de hace 100 años...
