Tap House City Place has a great selection of beers. Probably the most extensive selection I’ve seen in Costa Rica in my 5 years here. The menu is extensive as well and resembles a menu you might find in the States. Lots of burgers, sandwiches, and more. I had a Cajun chicken sandwich which was excellent. My wife got a smoked chicken salad sandwich which had a bit too much mayo for her liking. The side of sweet potato fries was very nice. My one complaint would be wine selection. While they have gone all out with their beer choices the wine options are limited. The only white wine was a Chardonnay. No Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc. Another minus, although small, is that many of the outdoor table were very unstable. They rocked badly. Tried 3 before we found a solid table. All in all a good...
Read moreRationed. I've been going to your place for about 8 years. Lately the prices have increased. Though the increase was quite high I understand inflation. What I didn't like was that your Pulled Pork Sandwich use to be stuffed with meat. Now it is less than half. You don't think we notice these things. Raising prices while cutting portions is a sure way to lose me. I'm not sure I'll go back [ Maybe 80 grams is your policy but the reality was that your well portioned sandwich from the past 30 times I've had it was not the same. No I didn't bring scales but I have eyes and when I saw how little meat was inside it was meager. I'm not saying it's a trend just not consistent. If I pay full price I expect a full meal. That day, I...
Read moreThe Tap House is a good place over all but I ordered Chifrio there thinking the quality would be good. Sadly Ike most restaurants in Costa Rica they think chunks of pure pork fat are considered part of the meal and once I realize that they put large pieces of pork fat in the mix, I flush it. It’s unacceptable to me and I won’t ever order it again. It’s that simple. The really bad part is Chifrio is really good if quality is fat free. Beer is cold, service is great,...
