Booked one day ahead and got a nice table with lovely view. That's the plus. The view is great and the restaurant nice looking and clean etc. We had a booking at 7pm which is obviously peak time so cannot complain too much but they really should be better prepared for this. I felt sorry for waiting staff but they wer clearly out of their depth and not prepared. 30 mins from being seated we had out food and drink order taken. 30 minutes. That is a joke no matter how busy for a premium restaurant like this. Food and drinks arrived , starter was ok but a few slices of dry white baguette to accompany it was not great. Drinks still didn't come. Then food and drinks arrived. How long does it take to pour one beer and a glass of house wine ?? A long time. More on the wine later...
I ordered grilled squid as if is my favourite local dish having had it at another nearby restaurant 2 days ago and been blown away I thought this place would be even better. It dissapointed me a lot. Not badly presented buy very small rubbery pieces of squid and completely no seasoning go speak of. Tasteless . Same for the bed of grilled veg it was as on. Nice presentation on the plate yes but that doesn't impress me if if was tasteless.
My girlfriend had some grilled chicken and fries and that looked like a cheap lunch menu option we would see in a Czech pub not a gourmet place on the coast. Again pretty basic average food.
I made a point of not tipping because of these points and overall lackluster experience. Then I re read the bill when I got home and realises we had been charged 100k for a small glass of house wine. For Czechs reading that is 350kc or around £12 English pounds. I guess a mistake so my advice check your bill more carefully than I did.
Overall nice view maybe get a sundowner drink there but...
Read moreTrue Oasis on the Coast A short, rural walk on a blistering hot day brought us to what felt like a little oasis. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a lovely welcome that matched the incredible views. The restaurant is built into the cliffside, with steps leading down to a flat rock beach. Terraces on numerous levels that offer plenty of space to relax and take in the beautiful scenery. On our first visit, we only stopped by for drinks. We were immediately taken with the atmosphere, and the dishes we saw coming out of the kitchen looked so appealing that we knew we had to return for a proper meal.
We returned on a busy Sunday evening without a reservation, and after a short wait, a table was found for us. It was clear the service was busy, so a bit of patience was needed, but with views like these and in such a calming environment, it was easy to just sit back and enjoy the moment. The atmosphere is quiet and low-volume, with no background music. The only sound is the gentle lapping of waves against the rocks below, which creates a truly serene dining experience. The food did not disappoint. The steak and the fish of the day were superb. Children's menu is limited but extremely well prepared at around €11. Dress is smarter than most other resturants nearby and with the menu €28 to €48 for a main, but is 100% worth it

Read moreWe booked here for a Friday night after being at the beach. We were sat at a table with very little view even though there were plenty available with great views of the sea that were not occupied for the whole time we were there. Whilst the service was good, the location is great, and some of the food was ok, unfortunately my sister ordered mussels that were less than 50% full, when we broached this with the staff they said they could say to the manager but weren't sure if they could do anything, they returned to say the manager said no to any money taken off our bill for half a meal. It seems that unless you get the signature dish (most expensive salt fish) then the rest of the food is not of the same standard. We moved our drinks to the cocktail bar with a view of the sunset and sea which was lovely. However, I wouldn't say this is the best food in pula at all, there's better in the old town. I heard some other people complain over the course of the evening and the same line was used about the manager saying no to any change or discount from any complaints about the food. It isn't hard to get mussels right, especially by the sea and having read some other reviews the standard of food seems to be a common issue. If you want a drinking by the sea at sunset this is the place to be near verdula but would recommend...
