The headline is that this hotel is just luxury. It's situated right on the sea, it is truly beautiful. However, although it is such a grand hotel in an amazing setting, the expensive price point does justify a fair review for people to consider before investing in a visit. Rooms - are on the small side. The beds however are very comfortable. The air con is good but noisy and as a result we did have to switch off and therefore had some warm sleeps. The room comes with a safe, tea bags, kettle and a illy coffee machine. Service - this was the biggest disappointment. We stayed 7 nights and only had the usual day cleaning on our second day. Despite leaving the "please make the room" sign out very early, once even at 6am, the room was never cleaned and we were never provided with clean towels, new shower gels etc. I always had to talk to reception (once, three times in one day as we had no clean towels and they didn't clean the day before). Our room was only cleaned 3 or 4 of the 7 nights we stayed. You wouldn't accept this service at a budget hotel, completely unacceptable. I can only assume there are staffing issues and must prioritise cleaning for new arrivals. Note that when you can finally manage to negotiate a clean, they do leave a new bottle of still and sparkling water which is a great touch. This level of service is something to consider though before booking. Food - quality of what is served for breakfast and lunch is excellent and service here is outstanding especially the breakfast staff. I would just say having spent 7 nights that the breakfast is literally 100% the same every day, there is literally no variety - I would have been disappointed with this even spending two nights. The evening buffet was ok. We tried it once and it's average and I'm glad we didn't pay for half board Pool area - clean, and just spectacular it really is. Sitting on a lounger overlooking the sea, amazing. Staff brilliant. There is the usual problem of people taking the best positioned beds and leaving towels there all day. Location - it is remote. You can walk 10 minutes to the nearby hotel complex which has a few shops and restaurants. You can also walk 10 mins to the bus 2a or 3 which takes 25 mins to get to the old town, - or take a taxi. The point is it is a remote resort so if want something more lively and not fully in the hotel, do have a think. Incident - when we returned late we walked past a young guy sitting on the sidewalk playing very loud music through his speaker. Unfortunately for us we were awaken at 1am by what you can only describe as a full on party from a room a couple of doors down. It must have been the same speaker the whole room and floor was shaking. You could hear multiple voices, men, women all chanting. We happened to have a 6am trip booked and it took two plus hours for the hotel to sort it - several people in that room including the guy with the speaker were definitely not likely to be guests - the hotel didn't handle this well at all - I don't know if this happens regularly but they did treat us to dinner and a bottle of wine which was class on their part. The other disappointing bit, and this is everywhere in Croatia or perhaps countries that have weaker smoking laws but literally smoking is everywhere. You can be eating and people literally light up and point the cigarettes to you without a care. You can be sitting on a lounger and the same thing. Cigarette butt's are everywhere around Pula although the hotel itself does a good job of cleaning. Top tip for the hotel- ban Cigarettes by the pool, the loungers and anywhere people are eating. Perhaps have a smoking part of the pool or site - not everyone wants a holiday where they are passively smoking several times a day and returning to their rooms smelling of Cigarettes. Overall as I said in my headline this is luxury it's beautiful but it has challenges which for the price charged should simply not be there. I also note that there is little in the way of entertainment. They sometimes have a singer but its very low key and not...
Read moreAs new parents embarking on our first family vacation with our 7-month-old, selecting the right accommodation was very important. Frankly, we couldn't have made a better decision. The exceptional hotel staff truly helped transform what could have been a stressful experience into a smooth vacation that will remain a wonderful lifetime memory.||During the pre-season, the restaurant and pool areas were not crowded, which we greatly appreciated. The breakfast and dinner options were splendid. Every dish, from diverse meat options to fresh fish, was delicious. The restaurant staff were very kind and served coffee to our tables each morning. The restaurant chef even offered us to prepare custom meals for our baby. So they provided delicious, freshly made purees for us every lunchtime, which really eased our daily routine. So kind and generous!||The reception team was equally welcoming and kind. Their flexibility extended to allowing us a complimentary one-hour late checkout, ensuring our baby could get a good nap before our departure – a small gesture that really made a huge difference for us! The baggage handlers were remarkably helpful, ensuring all our belongings were swiftly delivered to our room.||We were also surprised by the complimentary in-room amenities. Fresh bottled still and sparkling water were replenished daily, a wonderful and unexpected convenience. Free coffee capsules for the in-room coffee machine were also provided.||The wellness area, particularly the indoor pool, was exactly what we needed as new parents. It was uncrowded and peaceful and our baby really enjoyed the warmer water. The pool bar offered a convenient selection of lunch options, which were not too pricey. ||The hotel's cleanliness throughout was superb. The private beach area was also a delight, offering easy water access via ladders and concrete paths along the otherwise rocky shore. A beautiful public beach with easier access is conveniently located less than a 5-minute walk away.||The hotel’s gym allowed a decent training with a bar, bench and weight plates. There are also treadmills for some cardio training. It was well air conditioned, clean and again - provided fresh bottled water!||Beyond the hotel's amenities, its location is simply superb. In a secluded, green area with abundant natural shade, it offers a peaceful escape while still being just a few minutes' ride from town. Mobility was also effortless, easily accessible parking close to the hotel allowed exit and re-entry with our room card.||All in all, I really recommend this hotel; it truly offers exceptional value and is...
Read moreWe just spent a wonderful 5 days at Hotel Brioni. The hotel is lovely and the Infinity pool is clearly the star of the show. The staff are most helpful and accommodating. I would love to give it 5 stars because overall we had a great holiday and largely due to Hotel Brioni, however there are things that I hope can be improved.||1) Food, during the day the options are very limited. Both restaurants are essentially the same and the choice is not great. I would say that they don’t really differ from a normal kids menu. Wings, Fries, Burger and not much else. It would be great to see at least one of these doing local dishes. |2) Room view. I paid extra for a sea view room. This in reality was not a sea view unless you count looking in the mirror that was positioned to allow a partial view of sea. All you can see without leaning out of the window is trees. They should be clearer about this when booking. |3) Sun bed/deck chair hoarding. This is a problem. People get up early and put their towel down and then come and go as they please meaning that getting a deck chair is very hard unless you are very selfish about it. This can easily be solved by having a sign and some clear rules and reminding guests that they will have their items removed after say 30|minutes. |4) Taxis, the hotel will put €20 euros on your bill for a taxi into Pula. However, be aware that Uber works well in Pula and this journey never cost us more than €8. The hotel should discontinue this scam, or at least mention that Uber is widely available. |5) the swimming pool was freezing. Almost too cold to use and all the guests would make the same face when jumping in. This needs addressing!|6) lastly, this is not necessarily the fault of the hotel but we found some of the guests to be particularly rude and in some cases aggressive. One night I had to phone the front desk at 4.30am because our neighbour’s were having a loud party. The hotel did not apologise to me, make any concessions or even follow up in the morning. ||Things that are great about the hotel though include ||1) Sofia restaurant. This is a great place, wonderful food, service and view. Our waiter, was extremely knowledgeable and Thalia was amazing by getting us a last minute reservation outside. |2) The pool itself must be one of the most beautiful hotel pools anywhere. You will be hard pressed to find a better one. |3) staff are very professional and welcoming, special mention to Thalia, Sandro, Korina and Lorena.|4) Butlers Pantry instead of a mini bar is brilliant. Every hotel should do this. Access to ice, wine, snacks etc 24/7 is a...
