Jelsa Slastičarnica Gelateria Ice Caffe — Restaurant in Jelsa

This is a very hard working family owned business in a beautiful town of Jelsa on the island Hvar. I know them personally for well over 30-40 years. I have been watching the generations grow as I enjoyed their friendship and their delicious coffee, eis creams and since few years back the food at the restaurant next door. I wish I could bring them to Florida and open an Ice cream place just like theirs. If you ever find yourself in Jelsa this is the place you can not skip. We got the lavender and the salted caramel, they were both bloody delicious. Hvar is known for its lavender fields and they were harvested in July, so we had to get the lavender ice cream, it did not disappoint.

It is €2 per scoop at the side of the ice cream place or about €10+ in the sit down area for their extravagant desserts.

The gelato was okay, but the worst service ever from a gelato shop. I asked to get a taste with a small spoon to try one of the flavors, the owner yelled at me and said it’s not possible and if he gives everyone a try then he will be out of business.
