MEDITERAN — Restaurant in Jelsa

We were looking on trip advisor at a lot of good restaurants in Hvar but concluded they were all to overpriced with "fancy" fast food that was prepered in advance and very expensive. Than we researched this place because we were in the apartment above the restaurant ,all the reviwes were very good and now we can see why. We were in Hvar for 5 days and we ate breakfast and diner here evryday because we did not want to search for another restaurant because it was that good. We ate everything on the menu and we can not say which was more tasty. We ate fish, seafood, meat and vegetables and all kinds of salads, side xishes and homemade bread and souces. Everything was homemade, fresh, local and nicely presented. We enjoyed every bite. Host Tomo gave us his recomendations for the day and we were never disapointed. For breakfast we also had super tasty smoothies and a vide range of dishes that were freshly made in front of us. We also enjoyed homemade vine which was superb. | do not get why there was not a lot of guests at such place but | totally recommend this place to everybody who loves kitchen like your grandmas, homemade, fresh and delicous food and who is a gastonomer. Everything was very tady and clean and professionaly made and presented, the atmosphere was very calm and friendly. Also this is a family owned restaurant and pet friendly with hughe tarace. My boyfriend proposed to me here and Tomo and his family helped him arange the surprise. | will forever remember this place and will definetly go back, the food here was the best part of my vacatiom in Hvar. We spent a wonderful week at this place in Vrboska and ended up extending our stay for another two days — that’s how much we loved it! Honestly, if the weather forecast hadn’t shown rain, we would’ve gladly stayed for another 2–3 more days. The location is ideal, just a one-minute walk from the heart of the charming fishing town. The nearest beach — and one of our favorites on the entire island — is only a 5-minute walk away. It’s peaceful, quiet, and we ended up spending nearly half of our time there simply because it was so relaxing.

The property is family-run, and the hosts are truly exceptional people. They also own the restaurant downstairs, where everything is fresh, tasty, and served with warmth. We had an amazing grilled calamari and a perfectly cold beer, brought to us personally by the host — such a great experience every time we ate there.

The apartment has great air conditioning, which was a blessing after long days at the beach — it cooled the room quickly and made our evenings super comfortable. There's also a large supermarket just 5 minutes away by car, very convenient for anything you might need.

The private parking is safe and right next to the property — another big plus.

We felt completely at home, and we will definitely be back.

I stayed at the Mediteran rooms with my girlfriend for a couple of nights this July. We booked directly with the hosts after reading numerous positive reviews and I can only say that we are extremely happy we chose this accommodation for our stay. The location of Vrboska is perfect for everyone wishing for a bit quieter place to stay on Hvar, while still being able to enjoy the beautiful evenings in traditional restaurants and tavrens. Stari Grad is only a 10-minute drive away, while it takes a bit over 20 minutes to reach the city of Hvar. There is a large beach located just a 3 min drive from the rooms. The room looked recently renovated and is really kept well. It was clean, comfy, the bed was comfortable, the AC was strong and it worked really well. We had a cute balcony with a marvelous view on all of Vrboska. The best part of our stay, however, were the hosts. The rooms are run by a family, all of whom are really kind. We mostly communicated with Tomislav who is there 24/7, who greeted us every morning and prepared us every breakfast, per wish (from the menu, of course). He always had useful tips for our daily trips and we were blown away by his hospitality and kindness.
