Brisas del Mar — Restaurant in Cienfuegos

Brisas del Mar was found by pure accident. We visited Cienfuegos and just got to walking in the back streets of the city and stumbled upon this restaurant. The location is not central and to walk here is a little bit of work especially when it is super hot but definitely worth it. The restaurante has the feel of being on a boat, with the nice sea breeze and sea view. The menu has exceptional choices and I must say the cocktails were just as great! We settled for shrimp and mojitos, ice cream for dessert and it was super great. The prices are pretty resonable and the portions are perfect. We've just left the establishment with a lot of disappointment. The place looks like your average tourist magnet with a pirate themed decoration. The food was decent without any attractive presentation. After taking a look at the bill we realised that an additional order of rice was listed that we hadn't ordered. Visitamos Brisas del Mar por recomendación de un amigo. En términos generales, la comida fue aceptable y el servicio correcto. Sin embargo, tuvimos una experiencia muy negativa relacionada con los precios.

Nos ofrecieron dos platos “fuera de carta”, algo que ya habíamos experimentado en otros restaurantes de La Habana y Santa Clara sin ningún problema. Decidimos pedirlos confiando en esa experiencia previa. Lo que no esperábamos fue la sorpresa al recibir la cuenta: mientras los platos regulares rondaban los 8 USD, estos costaban más de 24 USD cada uno.

Lo más molesto fue que en ningún momento nos informaron del precio con antelación. Nos pareció una falta total de transparencia y respeto, especialmente considerando que habíamos comido esos mismos platos en otras provincias por menos de 10 USD y, para colmo, mejor preparados.
