Hotel La Union, Affiliated by Meliá — Hotel in Cienfuegos

Horrible hotel and the staff is extremely unhelpful and negligent. We went there to make a Last minute reservation since our hotel had to cancel our room for what ever reason and reservered online. We then came in here and gave them our credit card and the receptionist told us they do not take cards from American banks which we understood and it was out of there control but then reassured us she would see what else she can do. Instead went on lunch and we were waiting around for hours!!! When she got back we asked her what the deal is and she said sorry no I’m like ok so it took you this long to do nothing and go to lunch? So she said if we cancel it then it’s going to charge your card.... whattt?? You can’t take my card now but you can charge it for a cancellation?? She then said yes so at that point I lost and low and behold she can cancel it and no charge to the credit card. Hate this place and their food is horrible as well as the pool... jagua hotel’s pool is much nicer so go there and avoid this overly priced and under...

The hotel is in a beautiful colonial building with gorgeous painted tiles, several courtyards and a pool. It is located right in the city centre. Sadly it seems that most things which could be broken in this hotel is out of action:|1. The lift for this multi-story hotel did not work. I had to drag my luggage several levels up narrow stairs. Apart from the resident masseur Daniel, there were no hotel staff willing to help to elderly (or any) travellers in our group.|2. A safe in my room had no lock, so could not be used.|3. The internet worked only from time to time.|4. There was a slightly tarty pool with a jacuzzi which also does not work.|5. However the worse experience was when in the morning we did not have any water because something else got broken. Sadly we had to leave that morning without this essential facility.|My best memory about this hotel however is due to Daniel, the resident masseur at La Union, who is just excellent - very skilled and professional. ... Malheureusement encore un hotel de la chaîne espagnole Melia sur l'île .. catastrophe ! Plusieurs hotels de la chaine reservés et 1 seul à la hauteur certainement pas celui-ci ! Déception pour cet hôtel 4 étoiles, uniquement le batiment, la piscine et la situation vaut le passage .. Le rapport qualité prix n'y est pas .. il manque comme bcp d'hotels malheureusement ici d'entretien ..||Nous ne recommandons pas cette destination pour le moment et pas les hôtels de la chaîne Mélia aux tarifs appliqués trop élevés.||Manque de professionnalisme, de bonne volonté, de proactivité et de service en général.||Le pays va mal, crise économique, Covid.. on est plus à l'époque d'Obama, le passage à Trump a fait beaucoup de dégâts.. très peu de touristes pourtant et le service ne suit pas ..||Tout cela est très dommage et n'encourage pas le touriste à revenir ..||||||Les - en 1ers car c'est ceux là qu'on retiendra le plus malheureusement ... :||||- Dés l'arrivée, problème technique ouverture de la porte de notre chambre avec la carte / obligé de claquer fortement la porte pour la fermer systématiquement. On ne nous a pas changé de chambre. Avant cela, attente de plusieurs minutes avec un couple belge sur le palier rencontrant le même problème .. dans la déception également|| ⁃ Erreur du réceptionniste sur l’information du dîner .. a mal regardé la réservation .. || ⁃ Personnel du bar de la piscine se pensant seuls au monde qui mettent la télévision à fond , un film d'actions americain, sans gérer la clientèle (nous)|| ⁃ Eau de la piscine non chauffée, alors qu’elle est indiquée à 37 degrés. || - Environnement piscine sale + sièges usées ..|| ⁃ Coffre présent mais indisponible / inefficace.|| ⁃ Carrelage fissurée dans toute la chambre.|| - Etat de la chambre trés "usé"|| ⁃ Hôtel vieillissant, mal entretenu (ascenseur sale et très lent) || ⁃ Accès internet très limité et instable au lobby.||||Les + :|| - idealement situé dans le centre de Cienfuegos || - parking sécurisé, fermé et gratuit.|| - petit déjeuner correct à la Cubaine pour les touristes à savoir fruits locaux, jus, omelette, jambon/fromage, pain, beurre..|| -quelques personnes de l'accueil parlant français..mais on est ok avec l'anglais|| ...
