This lovely traditional Cypriot familiy run tavern is well worth a visit! Tucked off the main E701 which is the coast road running between Coral Bay and the harbour, it would be an easy walk if using the bus which runs frequently on the E701. The tavern has lovely sea views and the setting sun looks magnificent from the tavern. There is plenty of choice on the menu and something for everyone, we haven't had a meal which we have been disappointed with. Food is well cooked, generous and well presented. The staff are very attentive and considerate. It is popular with locals and tourists and clearly tourists return to the tavern once discovered. There is plenty of parking to the front of the tavern along with roadside parking if needed and the parking is free. Its rare that we book for lunch but always book for dinner because it is so popular. There is usually traditional Cypriot music playing in the background which adds to the experience without being intrusive. Today we had starters, mains, a litre caraf of wine, a large water and the bill came in at €62 which we felt was really good value for money. As is the norm we had a complementary plate of fresh fruit which rounded off the meal really well...... even if we could not eat it all! Had the hot cheese which was feta topped with a fresh pickled chilli, the fried meatballs (5 big meatballs which are very satisfying) my partner had a retro prawn cocktail to start and same mains. When I remarked on how nice the pickled Chilli's were Yianni arrived with a small platter of chilli's to eat with my meatballs!

To begin, if you are staying at the hotel next to this restaurant, do not bother with the hotel food. Especially if you are not already all inclusive or half-board. This wonderful family run restaurant is reasonably priced and blows the hotel out of the water! The service is as good as it gets here, they keep you smiling the entire time you are in their company. The food is all fresh and cooked from scratch. Not to mention the gorgeous view of the sunset. There’s a reason it’s been open since 1985! My partner and I went here on our own for dinner one night & we was so impressed by the quality, service and prices that we had to come back a few days later. We was impressed even more the second time we dined there, so much that we had to bring the rest of our family (who were all inclusive at hotel) for our final night of our holiday to show them what they’ve been missing out on. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough, it is a must for at least one evening if you are in the area to find out for yourself. We will defiantly be going back if we come back to this area in the future. Memories were made here! Thankyou to all the staff that made us feel so welcome! And a special thanks to mumma who’s cooking in the kitchen! Yamas!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A true gem in Cyprus — Tsiakka’s Tavern lifted my spirit! I stayed at Tsiakka’s Tavern for a week, and it was genuinely one of the most heart-warming experiences I’ve had while traveling. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, the rooms are clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained, and it’s only a short walk from the beach, which makes every morning and evening feel special. The food is absolutely amazing — fresh, homemade, and full of authentic Cypriot flavor. Every meal felt like it was cooked with love. The hosts are kind, genuine people who make you feel at home right away; their hospitality really lifted my spirit and made this week unforgettable. If you’re looking for a place that combines peace, good food, and heartfelt hospitality, this is it. Can’t recommend Tsiakka’s Tavern enough — I’ll definitely come back one day! 🌅🇨🇾

I am re writing this review and i will analyse it more this time after reading the owner’s comments on people’s reviews about his restaurant !

I will start by saying as a local Cypriot i guarantee you people this is not the quality, portion(for some people this might be big portions but for Cypriot portions are small) or taste of real local food! mentioning that we had fish meze! 1.As i understood all of people reviews are not done by locals, which means there’s not going to be legit comments, because every countries cuisine is different, some countries know well about strong flavours and some dont! 2.Starting with the Dips of the fish meze, tahini is diluted with water, canned octopus, cocktail shrimps frozen and cold frozen sauce , olives are ok because in cyprus olives cannot be bad even canned ones, tarama the cheapest tarama in the market, boiled potatoes with garlic and lemon was ok because is hard to fail boiled potatoes! Everything is used with vegetable oil, which shows how cheap quality is this place, good restaurants use real olive oil because the production of olive oil is enough for everyone and fair price so i don’t understand why to use this cheap vegetable, stinky oil.Which proves that everything in this restaurant is made cheap.Octopus with wine, if people tried this traditional dish with octopus and wine how Cypriots make it you will understand that this one in this restaurant is frozen octopus and tasteless.Calamari nothing absolutely special ( maybe it was the only fresh thing) Fried potatoes, never had worse in my life almost raw because of the fat cut pieces and colourless, usually when you eat fried potatoes are a bit orange colour, here were light yellow almost uncooked, lack of salt! ( even tho each table has its own salt and pepper to add if needed but all restaurants in cyprus have salt pepper plus if its higher rated restaurants then they also provide you free olive oil and vinegar. So again nothing special having the salt and pepper on the tables. The completely irrelevant dish for “local” food how the owners describes it in his comments on people reviews, the rice soaked in vegetable oil plus frozen mussels and watery taste of shrimps which also means frozen! The small fish which one of the fish was not consumed at all because it was filled with blood so not properly washed! nothing special and the main fish which in our case was tiny tsipoura, TASTELESS, usually when you eat fish in cyprus the best part of ordering fish meze is the fresh fish at the end but not in this case.

3.The owner of this restaurant needs to do a deeper research on what FINE DINING means because his restaurant and a fine dining restaurant are quite far! Even if it was a Fine frozen restaurant it will still be rated very low by me because everything basically is a fail! Also the owner shouldn’t “threat” other people by telling the to change their review, Since he puts his restaurant to be reviewed on google he should not complain for peoples reviews and opinions. Stop lying to people that your food is fresh, If a food inspector comes to approves this restaurant he will have to shut it down. Views of the restaurant are ok but not the style of this restaurant, No design, no atmosphere , very heavy and messy! So Yiannis, accept people’s opinions and make changes if you want to be successful , don’t be so sure about your Cooking skills! The karafa wine which in the supermarket this wine cost 2,20 € (which again he claims to be local wine) he dilutes it with water with the result of drinking juice not wine.So people never get karafa wine, only in closed bottles to know where is coming from.

if this guy was polite to the comments of people i would never even review him but since he is being rude and sarcastic about people not writing reviews which he doesn’t like he must see a specialist and then be an owner of a restaurant. Fix your personality and if you achieve it then you can try to change others !

Sad i don’t have any pictures to post but is exactly the same of the pictures...

I visited the tavern yesterday to have dinner and taste Cypriot delicacies. This review, I'm afraid, won't be positive. Hopefully, the business will consider the feedback and take it on-board in order to improve service, food and customers experience.

To begin, service was unattentive and lacked courtesy. I admit, I've lived in Greece and visited many restaurants and found their service caring, courteous and friendly. Yesterday none of these qualities were met. I did not get asked if I was happy with the food during the meal and, more importantly, I was unattended. I did not find the genuine hospitality I found in other places. And, personnel was uncaring about the fact that a cat was meowing under my chair to try and get food, but none of the waiters asked me if I was ok with it. What if a customer had pet allergies?

Secondly, food needs significant improvement. I ordered chicken souvlaki and tzatsiki. The dish came with dry chicken, burned vegetables, and chips that were not hand-cut. The dish came with a bit of rice and two small broccoli. Rice was watery and broccoli were not fresh. Lastly, tzaziki was not at its best. It was not what I expected and mint was missing.

Finally, customers experience. At the beginning, I asked the waiter to bring tzaziki with chicken souvlaki. I was presented tzaziki on its own but with no souvlaki. Crucially, the waiter at the beginning, when asked about suggestions, was not really responsive and tried to avoid conversation - when asked about the meze, which is what I wanted, he said that it was only for two. Then, when asked about suggestion of the dish of the day, I felt the answer was quick and lacking attention.

In terms of price, I felt it was overpriced, considering I only ordered a bottle of water (served in plastic, which I found quite disrespectful, bearing in mind it is a restaurant/tavern and not an enterprise staff room), a chicken souvlaki with tzaziki. I was charged 23 £ and was on my own.

Certainly, it was an extremely unpleasant experience. I hope staff and management will take this...
