Monastiraki Athens — Restaurant in Germasogeia

We booked for dinner here, however when we arrived we discovered multiple tables smoking indoors at the restaurant. I know this is illegal, but the tables had ashtrays on them and when we said to the waiter we didn't realise they allowed smoking indoors he just shrugged and said "sorry" with a visible indifference, so we had no choice but to walk out and go somewhere else to dine. Avoid if you want to dine at a restaurant that cares about people's health and doesn't allow smoking.

Edited to add: we sat indoors and not outdoors, the owner is responding making up lies that we sat outside to try and cover for the fact that they are knowingly breaking the law. Anyone who visits inside this restaurant will immediately see that they have ashtrays on the tables and they actively allow people to smoke inside, because the minute we said we didn't want to sit inside next to smokers we were shown the door, don't believe their lies that we...

Not bad. A small cozy place for friends and family. Music was entertaining, engaging with the audience!

The food was tasty but in portions, it was the sample of a sample. It was literally one mushroom per person! They served us salad and cheese with bread. We stayed with that for hours! It was close to midnight they decided to bring the meat out! People ate, but it is so unhealthy to eat heavy in this hours..

If it was not a late night celebration, the food would not have scored 1/5. Tiny portions being served at a terribly slow pace. 1/3 of the people had left by the time most food was served.

Service was fast, clean, polite. Always attending to our needs, cleaning with speed and very carefully, as the place was packed.

Smocking is allowed inside. In my humble opinion, it should not. Not everybody is a smoker and this can ruin a...

✨ Birthday Celebration at Monastiri ✨

We had my birthday dinner at Monastiri Restaurant this Friday, and it was truly wonderful! The Greek food was absolutely delicious — full of authentic flavors and beautifully presented.

The service made the evening extra special. A big thank you to Ali, who did his very best to make my birthday amazing — always smiling, so welcoming, and full of positive energy.

To top it all off, there was live Greek music that created such a joyful atmosphere — it was the best! 🎶
